Black screen (multiplayer) whenever player joins my game

We are unable to play the game together - by the end of the mission 12 (SP Rowe). Whenever any player is trying to join me we are teleported to Lawan and screen goes black to all of us.

I've tried to progress my story further but each time my friend is trying to join me we both got black screen and game crashes.

I just had the same issue today

The fix is to unlink your progress with epic games. Both you and the friend you are playing with, have to do this.
Log into epic games on browser > Go to account > Go to Apps and Accounts > Go to the apps tab in the top > Find Dying Light 2 and remove the link

Next time you open the game, Epic Games will ask if you want to link again. Press cancel
