Tf? You can absolutely one-shot anything on any difficulty. Wdym?! On normal, you can one-shot volatiles. On hard, you can if you headshot them. On nightmare, you probably need two or three hits, but they are just fine to take down, especially with the setup you describe. I main knuckle dusters and absolutely destroy on any difficulty. On two-handed, you one-shot literally everything.
- each time you get legendary level you receive a chest with a descent chance to get exotic;
- killing GRE anomaly;
- killing Volatile (around 2500hp, can be silently one shouted in head), Tyrants (10k hp) and Volatile Hives on Nightmare difficulty before going to New Game+ as it much more easier to kill;
- pilgrim Outpost reputation;
- high reputation rewards from Vendors;
- daily and weekly bounties (each 5 grant you a chest).
Each New Game+ playthrough makes game harder.
Maybe. I'm fully updated and just...plough through things. With any weapon, really. Pretty sure I could pick up a stick and one-shot a viral, with the legend level bonus alone...
