Does Nightmare Mode Increase the Drop Rate of Nocturnal Weapons?
And if so, is the increased chance worth the added difficulty of fighting volatiles/special spawns?

I'm not sure. Personally, I usually play in hard mode, except when I'm doing business in the shops, because it's much more profitable on easy mode.

Yeah, enemies are already pretty spongy on hard mode. Nightmare Mode makes things especially tedious, so I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it or if I should just go back down to hard.

There's nothing "worth it" about playing Nightmare other than to get the Waltz outfit, or for the challenge. Everything that's available (regarding weapon tiers) in Nightmare is available in Hard, so don't go higher than that if you're looking to farm. It's much slower to farm NM because of how you have to keep managing chase levels to avoid getting 5, because there's no (legit) way of easily taking on so many volatiles + Tyrants at once.

Compared to NM, on Hard you can still be functionally invulnerable with just damage reduction gear + boosters, no legend level buffs required.
