If they were just outright decent people, not naive or idiotic or selfish, then why would you choose NOT to side with them, when the other faction is like ruthlessly authoritarian?
I feel that this game's factions are really "lesser of two evils" in nature.
I've made the same exact argument about the bazaar i dont understand how they are supposed to be likable. the short conversation i had with the 3 peace keepers outside a station was a hundred times better than the pity party you have with the "legendary" Nightrunners where you are scripted to be a party pooper.
The womens brother strangling me was instantly hostile in my mind they dug their own grave there. But to then kill that kid (on his birthday i noticed you didn't mention) by using him as bait to then shrug it off like it was nothing. also killing the big bald guy does nothing to the story at all. you just gotta make up your mind later. The bazzar multiple times tries to get you killed.
Meanwhile peacekeeprs have a grave room with all the dog tags. They have Some form of order. (not saying the leaders are perfect at all) And at least take care of the sick.
The peacekeepers are like if cops took over and the bazzar is like if a flea market took over.
not a hard choice to make when it comes to The people. imo.
