water tower choice (spoilers)

hi, I gave the water tower to the survivors and I absolutely hate Sophie after she overthrew Carl and took over with her goons, I read that I can't side with the Peacekeepers now, but how much does this affect the story? pls don't spoil too much :)

Not at all, Old Villedor and the Central Loop are completely separated from each other and no one in one part of the city has an idea what happens in the other part.

If you give it to the PKs, then you lose the Bazaar as a populated safe area with bed/storage and vendor/crafter. Side quests are also different depending on who owns each zone. As far as the main story, the only difference is which faction quest you are given leading up to your journey to the Central Loop. Beyond that, it makes no difference, and you can side with PK all you want. You/ll lose the PK main terminal station either way, so if you want to at least keep the Bazaar, then you made the right choice giving it to the survivors.
