You should be doing that before you report bugs considering you played with mods on that save lmao. Its 100% fair for them to suggest this.
Just because stuff has worked in the past does not mean itll always work lol.
Ive never had an issue picking up items with out mods, does that mean it doesnt happen? Nope it doesnt.
You're only bound 99% of the time to not have your question answered and be pointed out to do the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and pointless tasks possible like they're throwing random ♥♥♥♥ at the wall, like completely reinstalling your system, deleting all your games, creating a new account and wasting tens or more of hours of your life with tests, tell you to repeat what you did 10 tech support messages before to fix an achievement not unlocking.
Then I had to rollback my save and at that point it wasn't worth it to lose like 20 hours of progress for an stupid charm.
IF I MAY,
Starting Response by Throwing "hail mary" solution on every suspected bug is no different from using BOT.
Fire up game and check if Bug replicate on Tech Support first would
I can tell You right away I do not use Mods, and still get silly, but infuriating bugs*. ...but I couldn't be bothered to submit ticket. Those who commit time and effort to do so.... should be cherished
* (side quest to light candle) There is bus with body nearby Memorial.Player gets stuck every single time when walking over it. No parkour assist option toggle seems to affect it.
the Tech Support team is sending the most inhumane, insane suggestions that do absolutely nothing in the end after I've performed them--to something that is not even related to the problem reported to them.
I've mentioned multiple times in my tech support message--that I may have a clue of where the problem with my issue is, but they completely ignore it. Like at this point, I JUST want to forward where the problem could be for a developer to take a look.
Like genuinely. That's all I wanna do now, point out at a potential reason for the problem I'm having for someone to take a look, because I know since release this has been a problem--and I'm still facing it right now.
I do know a potential workaround for it--but, I know it's possibly gonna risk me losing the Scorpio I got from free weekend :/
I will however, maybe give that workaround a try once the Nightmare Mode releases since I love this game's parkour way too much. Again, a bit scared of losing the Scorpio because of it.
Bottom line is mods alter the way the game functions, especially if there is an event going on. Remove all mods, then verify files. Worst case, uninstall the game and make sure the folder is clear before reinstalling.
In this sense, I can understand why they are telling people these basic things - because (as some have posted, including you ) they forget they have mods installed and don't remove them first.
So I'm confused here. You - by your own admission - failed to follow basic steps to ensure a "pure" installation, then blame their Tech Support for telling you to do basic steps?
If you still have an issue, then unfortunately you have to do some investigation to see if others are reporting the same thing. If the same problem happens in the same place for multiple people, then yeah it's most likely a game bug (like getting stuck in a certain place).
If, on the other hand, you have some strange lockup hours after playing at some random time, then it's likely with your system (cooling, power issue, driver issue, etc). And sometimes this can be very hard to track down. I recently discovered a BIOS setting issue with z790 boards that was destabilizing my system, simply because I trusted that the BIOS would by default (ie no overclocking) place values within proper spec. I was wrong.
No???I never mentioned installing mods, let alone even did so. And yes, they DID blatantly tell me to delete my entire Steam AND other games like full hail mary and I can screenshot if not believed; but also clean installing my system(that's...odd and too much for a game but I did because I was gonna do it anyways) and making a new user account. It's why I can't take their tech support seriously.
It's why I hope to relay my hunch on what's causing this problem to the devs, specially if I can reproduce it when Nightmare Mode update is out which is when I'm testing it.
I was talking to Mr. Gooble but, yeah, I agree 100% that telling people to blindly remove STEAM is crazy. Trust me - you do not want to do that, plus it should have zero to do with any specific game installation.
I'm not sure how Techland tech support works now after the acquisition - maybe that part went to a verrryyy generic team.
