Nightmare Mode Worth it?
The only thing you get is a Waltz skin, but is this mode actually worth playing? I know it may be for hardcore players, but actually, is it?

if you have legend levels, and dont really die much then yeah prolly.
as you get 5x the exp instead of w.e it was prior on hard, but you lose 5x or something when dying.

Unless you're into pushing yourself to limit, it's not worth it.

im a mental masochist :^)
But while doing normal NG, nightmare honestly isnt that hard, unless you roam around at night since I think volatiles scale with you, theyve always killed me in like 2 hits, no matter the zone.

But if youre doing everything youll out level most areas fairly fast, especially if you do bloody ties.

I cant speak for ng+ though, prolly a lot harder since everything actually scales to you or is max level.
Crafted weapons seem pretty OP during normal NG as well, they seem to be a little better than the rank theyre at, compared to other weapons, Especially like the grave digger. So youll kill fairly fast using them. I had to avoid leveling mine to Legendary xD. Im trying not to use them unless its as a back up. Wish they made all crafted weapons only have 2 mod slots to balance em out a bit more.
Idk how those are at end game though.

i disagree with this statement. there's many reasons to play nightmare over normal difficulties.

personally i find it way more immersive. certain hud elements are disabled so you have to listen to your immunity timer instead of just looking at the circle under the radar.
there's no more health bars either for enemies.

survivor sense wont tag items and chests etc. anymore, so you have to look for them with your own eyes. the changes to the flashlight compliment this very nicely, as you'll probably slow down your a pace a bit looking for loot.

tactical stamina is similar to what we had in dying light 1, and i very much prefer it after playing around with it for a bit. you might struggle a bit at the beginning on a fresh save, but it gets very managable after a few inhibitors. it feels right imo, better balanced.

there's more to it than just ''pushing yourself to the limit''.
try it out id say and see if you like it. bonus points for doing it on a fresh save :Alberts:

I love nightmare mode, Allthough I wish the menu was transparent now, and I wish you still could see collectibles with the survivor sense. its nice being able to run out of stamina too past like level 6 stamina lmao.
Game feels like how it should have been from the start with nightmare mode.

Im glade when I first got dying light 1, nightmare was already out lmao. On hard these games are too easy.
I really wish this game had a toggle level scale mode for non NG+, cuz I like doing everything but doing that over levels you VERY fast lmao. I feel like for NG they shouldnt have let you craft legendary items as well. Or even get them from loot boxes xD. I avoid upgrading weapons to legendary. And ILl still use the loot box legendary weapons since they cost an arm and a leg to repair, at least the first New game.

I've heard several people on reddit posts that, if you're doing it just for the Waltz skin, it's not worth it. But, if you're doing it for fun, then maybe, but the reward you get I've heard there should've at least of been something more useful besides a cosmetic.

I mean you get a lot more EXP for legend levels, lol.
But yeah, they should have had also like armor skins too, and maybe some other skin rewards. Hell maybe a unique weapon skin or something.

I personally dont want more than the exp boost for legend levels on nightmare, since its meant to be harder.

OH you also get more rare gear too, forgot about that one.

Tbh even on nightmare mode I still pretty much 1 hit everything lol, I can kill volatiles in 4 hits ofc with the upgrades and inhibitors enabled. The real deal for me is more legend XP and level 5 chase tyrants.

Would be cool if they made it so every time you do NG+ enemies got a little beefier health wise, maybe damage wise to a point, not enough to negate your legend levels, but enough to keep it so it doesnt end up gettin boring lol.

Id be down for more of a "G-RIFT" mode from like diablo 3 were you can increase the difficulty more and more, to try to beat w.e record you had prior.
Ig the massive building raids will be kinda like that.

Lovin the game so far 2 years after launch. More content than what DL1 had by this point, in terms of end game stuff. Obviously getting an expansion by now would be nice, im hopping for the expansion they delve into volatiles being able to communicate like in the first game were one of them talks to you, that ♥♥♥♥ was cool as hell and super interesting. Im expecting the expansion will obviously be bigger than the first games big expansion.

Not gonna lie, I'm somewhat getting used to the harder scale, lol! I like how I say that, coming from someone who's always played on normal and hated anything harder than what I'm used to. Literally stepping outside my comfort zone to see if I have what it takes.

I hated how brain dead the game was before nightmare, it still is pretty brain dead (out side of nights) when playing normal new game, since you just out scale. Really really wish they gave us a toggle scale mode lmao. I imagine it cant be all that hard, since they already have the code for scaling. I know it would be as simple as just copy pasting it over or what ever, and would require work, but it would be nice for players like me lol. I hate the feeling of just 2 shotting everything xD.

I'm so used to normal, that if I die super quick, I just instantly dislike it, so I switch back. It's the exact reason I can't play Dark souls or any souls like games, I just end up raging super hard, lol!

Lol, Ill rage from time to time in single player games. Playing competitive games though, I can end up raging hard. its literally the only thing in life I rage at lmao.
Its fine to play on easier settings, Id rather have everyone enjoy a good game xD

Right? Exactly. I'm just trying Nightmare to get a feel for it, and see if I can adapt to it, and I seem to be learning when to engage into combat, and not just willy nilly swing my weapon, the game really makes you think about, are these bandits worth it?

I dont really go for bandits unless theyre in the way. Same with most zombies, unless im collecting trophies obviously.
Like anything under artifacts are kinda useless after you get your first artifact, as youll likely find more artifact weapons by the time your current run breaks (if you dont repair it), so I dont even do those chest lmao.

And to collect those mutations for the scratches on the ground, I go in drop kick the bandits, collect the stuff and dip xD.

You can get a lot of scrap and stuff so bandits are not like totally useless during NG. Plus it is kinda fun fighting them, and having to block and such.
But a lot of times im ignoring them..
Up to you on if you wanna do it or not.
It is exp, Ill often just drop kicking them off a roof xD.

Ive never played NG+ so maybe on NG+ theyre more worth going after. After all weapon scraps do come in handy if youre using equipment.
