Blunt vs slashing
Is there an actual difference between then two? I’m still trying to find out if there is one.

I’m guessing slashing makes it easier to delimb enemies and blunt against armor. I don’t focus much on it with the whole ranking system and parkour attacks being somewhat better overall.

So, say I have a 100 damage slashing and a 100 damage blunt. Would it matter which one I chose?

Kinda hard to say, some weapons have different passives like 12% more damage against infected, humans, at full health. Makes calculations a waste.

So it doesn’t really matter in the end? It’s just based on damage or no.

Yeah, like I said due to power levels it only becomes important endgame more then anything.

Okay sweet, so just choose what I enjoy the most until it becomes important. Thanks.

If you played the first or even dead island you are swapping weapons all the time anyways.

Yeah, I think my problem is that I dislike blunt weapons but the sometimes have higher damage.

The advantage of blunt weapons is their innate stand meter damage. Blunt weapon depletes enemies’ white bar faster than slash weapons, which leaves enemies open for execution.

On the other hand, slash weapons can behead and dismember enemies. Normal biter loses the ability to grab you once dismembered. Humans and virals die instantly when they’re dismembered.

From what I observed, enemies without stand meter, such as volatiles, goons and demolishers ignore innate weapon type bonuses.

Thank you, that’s very helpful.

If you perfect block or dodge it does the same thing. Feels like an after thought.
