The games still a Scam and that won’t change
Simple as, their false marketing pre release still exists, they still sold something they didn’t advertise not to mention they actively made it worse for anyone that bought anything but the basic edition at launch

Then let’s add their predatory ingame currency and heavy reliance on FOMO, this game is a scam, and no updates can fix that, and as of recent they keep adding meaningless and useless things with their quest design actually unironically becoming increasingly reliant on fetch quests

For example tolga and fatim are nothing but fetch quests

3rd quest with them and u have up because they actually expect me to fetch 6 items out of 6 different spaces all over the map while having to wear an item that makes the game experience worse every second, and they keep doing more like it. If it isn’t fetch quests it’s grinding, just grind some more for your level or for your vendor specific currencies

This game was a scam at launch, and anyone who plays it now is just being fed the most basic and insulting quest designs in the industry

Lighten up, Francis.
Okay, well, if you don't like the game, just ignore it and move on to something you'll actually like. No one is forcing you to play. There's plenty more people who enjoy it, and honestly, Dying Light 1 had fetch quests too. E3 is long gone and won't be coming back, just accept it and move on. Or you can continue making pointless threads and farm clown awards that people will probably give you.

Here's the thing, champ. You want to trash talk the game, go right ahead. Knock yourself out. You want to trash talk the developer studio, or the company that acquired them? Have fun with that. But don't condescend to insult other people who obviously get some enjoyment or personal satisfaction out of the game, which you obviously don't. Doing so speaks to nothing but an insufferable jealousy on your part.

Grow up. Most of us stopped pissing in the wind a long, long time ago.

I'm not sure that was really an insult. It is undeniably true this game is mostly fetch quests, which historically have been maybe one step above escort quests. As a new player to this game, I'm blown away by the fact that 50% or more of the quests are in fact fetch quests. Over 50% for me at this point in the game, but that is likely due to the fact they release ALL side quests on the board when you're only around Pilgrim rank 3. The agents are all grindy. The game feels like a mobile game team was taking over for a lot of it. I don't necessarily blame the devs, as usually the publishers/management are the ones pulling the strings and forcing out content from a business front rather than a gaming/art front. It is all about the least amount of work for the best possible monetary gain. You also started with, "Here's the thing, champ." which is condescending in and of itself so I'm not sure why you would start off with that then tell someone to not condescend. I agree that we have no need to insult each other, but there is nothing wrong with complaining when something is wrong. It shows that people actually care, and want it to be better. I complain about the bugs, poor controls, poor movement, and poor quest implementation. That isn't because I want everyone to think, "oh this game sucks don't ever play" but rather because I want the game to be improved upon and become an absolute masterpiece like it deserves to be.
The game and story aren't E3, that is true and the story is mediocre. But the current state of the game is the state in which it should have been released 2 years ago. And luckily a team of modders is busy bringing back the E3 Elyseum, so theres atleast that.

But what's that gonna do for the game though? Bringing back what E3 showed, I don't see how that's gonna do anything for the game. Maybe just for exploration? If it has anything to change, I'll be surprised.

In what sense do you mean this? For this specific project that I've mentioned the modders are working on, they won't bring back only the map but there will be an entire storyline implemented alongside it. Whether the storyline is the one from the E3 or their own, I am not 100% sure, but I think that they will implement their own story. But yeah most maps on the modding site are just for exploration pretty much.

I wasn't sure if this mod was just going to be bringing back just a map, I didn't know anything about this, so that's why I'm asking. Also, what's done is done with the game, but I was just asking if they were thinking it'd change the game entirely, which is probably false, but since it's just a storyline, I'm interested to know what they're doing. You probably already know it's not gonna completely change the game, I was just curious.

Yeah obviously, you are 100% correct. It is what it is, although I would have been happy if they did completely rewrite the story as many people are asking for(don't forget the 200 pages of cut content among which were many different factions that no longer exist), but at that point they may aswell just start making the game from scratch, since if you change the story you would have to redo all the quests. The only thing they can do is perhaps some small adjustments to already existing quests and cutscenes which they have already done in the past few updates and adding some new quests. The only hope for redemption regarding the story now is for the second DLC to be as amazing as The Following or better. Fingers crossed.

The mod won't change the game, but it will atleast give some of that E3 satisfaction back to the players.

I looked this up earlier and I'm amazed. They did a great job at recreating the E3 showcase, looks nearly identical.

I mean, I like the game as the updates go by but I at least am aware that it'll never reach the height of the original, I appreciate it for coming this far along with such a troubled development.
