Performance weirdly bad.*FIXED*
Bad stutters at higher settings , Considering this is pretty much a remaster i find it odd.

Specs:
Cpu: I7 9x series
Ram 16 ddr4 (Now 32)
Gpu: 2080 super.
Windows 10

Is this not enough for this old game?

Is it the cpu?

I for sure dip well below 60 fps all over the place...

--------------------------

EDIT: Fixed after doubling the ram.

EDIT: From a comment underneath;
-
It's the LOD. Turn the LOD down to the lowest setting which is 75 and it stopped everything I described!

I've heard that the recommended specs are deceiving, and it's not accurate. I might be thinking of a different game, but apparently the recommended isn't right. Games literally 2 years old, not old in my opinion, but since the graphics have been updated, you will need a better card. I'm using a 4070Ti, which of course that'll be a huge difference, but I'm not getting any performance issues. Thing is, even with a 40 series, people have issues with certain games.

Yeah , 2080 is pretty fast but kinda outdated on what it supports , We will soon get a second gaming system with atleast a 4070 super 12gb and 32 gb ddr5 , and ryzen 7.

Lets see if that helps , like every newer game runs fine maxed out except this , just seems wildly unstable n badly optimized :( Literaly draining the fun out of this game.

Patch versions prior 1.1.4 are all giving negative impacts in the perfomance. Before that even my NVIDIA RTX 2060 6 gb ddr5 could handle just fine. This ♥♥♥♥ show started with 2nd anniversary update and 'firearms' package.

I read about this allot , sadly just after we played 2 hours which was mostly trying to fix performance xD

Otherwise id alrdy have uninstalled n refunded.

I wish the reviews was more accurate , kinda based the purchase on that and gameplay videos n trailers....
my mistake xD

i ran this game on a 2060 and 4080 for comparison and it was consistent althroughout
but overall the performance ingame feels a bit delayed. could just be me

try it out for yourself.

2060 managed to hit 100 fps tho. (my cpu is a bit powerful also, i9-13900k)

The devs responded to me personally about talking to them about it , I managed to make it bareable by now by turning allot of settings off or low.

I notice the ingame rendered cutscenes dont lag atall , but as soon as u get character control back the stutters return same second.

Ok so just a heads up , I figured it out , Its the ram , 16 simply isnt enough for dying light 2 , the moment we doubled it , it was all good.

So the requirments page bassicly needs a huge update , people running the minimum wont be able to play atall as is... (and we was way above reccomended...)

Makes sence though , All stutters disappeared and rock solid 60 fps everywhere.

Not sure how this fixed it for you... I have 32gb Ram DDR4. A RTX NVidia 3080 (8gb) MSI GP66 Leopard. i7 CPU. Win 11. It constantly slows down and speeds back up. Even the trees bend back and forth slowly then insanely. Go from 100+ fps to 30+ fps and back every 4 to 5 seconds. Not sure what is going on.

Game ran fine prior to current patch.

I think i read that issue is caused by motion blur , put it to low and to 0 (motion blur will still be there , i suspect s why it bugs)

it's at 0 already because I figured that would help. It doesnt.

Found the solution!

Stopped all stuttering and FPS drop.

It's the LOD. Turn the LOD down to the lowest setting which is 75 and it stopped everything I described!

No idea , but going from 16 to 32 fixed it here , u cant really see actual ram usage if u got enough of it , cus windows manages it in ways that it would say show u it uses 8 gb right? then when u up from 16 to 32 it all of a sudden uses more ram (cus it can and it helps) its strange i noticed this stuff first long ago at arks EA release.
