First 4-5 hours wouldnt be as fun as the next one as you will have low stamina and no skills.
Just enjoy and admire the beauty, BTW A big city map with skyscrappers with paraglider and grapple tools also unlocks later in game.
Collect all the inhibitors and don't miss them.
Capture the metro for fast travel. And you only need to walk around the GRE laboratories at night. During the day it is full of volatiles, as like metros.
Give the water to the survivors, otherwise you will lose the bazaar as a safe zone. It is advisable to give all 7 objects to only one faction, so the whole city will be full of their bonuses.
Collect resources from viral zombies, this is important to upgrade things such as first aid kits and regenerating things. First of all, it is advisable to pump them up.
Also don't stand still. I used to be able to do decent fighting in Dying Light 1. Which didn't need movement to fight except in select circumstances. In this game however I sucked until recently when I started moving around doing vault kicks off of knee high objects. Can't take damage if you don't get hit.
