No unfortunately, you have to do some mini missions, missions done then you have a pistol but no ammo, want ammo you have to grind some missions to get some tokens, and if you manage to get some shots out of pistol then wait, Crossbow does more damage? Yes indeed. Good update with own pros and cons.

What about his player Stash? Unless he just got the game then yeah, you gotta do the mission.

Free pistol and some ammo is in your stash, you can grab it any time after tutorial. But bullets is pretty rare so u can't use farearms often, like in DL 1.

well have to be honest thats not very much incentive for me to play really not a melee type player some is ok but this seems to be the opposite ... thxs guys

i'll check the mods out in a few weeks guessing there will be a solution to the ammo prob.

you can find bullets inside a green chest that spawns on convoys, as for guns its the same overly grindy agent nonsense but worse, bounties have to be completed during these agent missions and to add insult to injury, at the end of those you have to stare at a pointless, unskippable screen for 30 seconds.

You can grab Free Harran Pistol right away to try out the firearms. There are also 6 community made maps inspired by popular shooters you can try - make sure to sort maps by the most recent not popular, They will show up.

You get ammo from -> military convoys, armored zombies and buying it from the guy who introduces the new quests to you (names jai) you can do one elite mission that is quite easy and get 40 credits with which you can buy like 4 magazines of smg ammo and I think its 6 credits per pistol magazine. So I feel like you can get ammo quite frequent. you cannot hold thousands of rounds anyway to so you are fighting with mostly like 10 magazines in your inventory anyway. Just like the bow its just an additional tool. Melee is still the most viable. but it feels really nice to use guns to make some situations easier.

This really isn't going to be the game for you if you want an emphasis on shooting over melee. I'd give it a skip if that's what you were looking for, or at least, give it another 6+ months to see if they make any changes that would make that playstyle more feasible, because right now, you'd be doing a lot of shoehorning mods into this to try and turn the game into something it's not.

Farming is good enough no waste for ammo imo. Love the introduction of guns. Now i only miss the "stab from Above" Skill and all gun features from DL1. Like supressors and subsonic ammo
