its a horror game. you're supposed to be scared.

Actually, enjoy while it lasts. Seriously. You can work around with fear as it tingles your mind, but when it's gone it gets kind of boring.

I was sure this had to be a troll post to farm awards lol...

Either I must be completely dead inside lol, or I'm assuming it must be very young teenagers playing to feel afraid playing? I'm genuinely curious; do you just never play horror games/watch horror films to feel like that, or what's the deal exactly? (again, not judging, but honest answers would be helpful)

In any event; I guess just try to enjoy it whilst it lasts if it makes you feel that way. I honestly can't even remember the last game I played that I thought was even remotely scary. You'll miss it when it's gone. Kind of lowers the excitement & enjoyment you can get from it.

Funny thing is I turn 24 in a couple of months haha, I love the zombie genre and like to play zombie games. I just have no idea why this game scared the crap out of me. I feel so nervous everytime I play. Then again I can't even play dead space without being spooked. But I guess I just need more exposure therapy lol

Yeah honestly I can play this game with friends but something about just being alone really does make me nervous lol

Just dont listen to kq 8 dark daventry ost or something else while playing lol. That music scared the crap out of me when i was very young, at least at first, just unforgettable atmosphere

i'd say go for it and be scared. Not a lot of games can give this feeling of tension without throwing jumpscares at you

I'm in the same boat, I avoid the night as it has a lot of tension in it. Best to face your fears I guess, I'll be doing the same. The first game is just as bad, never touched the night for it either.

I understand that, haha. In the first game, I avoided the nights at all costs and was terrified of a few points in the story. In this one, I rarely ever sleep through the nights, even though I find them to be even worse! Volatiles are.. everywhere.
But the night also brings a lot of opportunities. Theres a bunch of things you can only do at night. Places that will give you inhibitors, valuable loot and special infected that will drop the parts you need to upgrade most of your blueprints.
So, be scared. Keep a UV flashlight in the ready, but dont skip that part of the game. You will need it.

I agree with this. Me being level 50 with all maxed out blue prints and top notch gear, I whoop Volatiles' asses instead of trying to avoid them, lol. It's no longer "scary", but hopefully when Nightmare difficulty drops, that will change.

In the beginning you run.
Toward the end you kill.

Cure is listen metal or rock while playing.
Trust me.

Fret not, for I, Sir Licksalot shall ensure your safety! Simply snuggle into my tender embrace, until the twilight wanes and is replaced by the radiant lustre of dawn. With enough cuddles, all your fears will be assuaged and diminish, until they become nowt more than mere specks, remnants not worthy of being scattered unto the wind, let alone presided upon by your skittish mind.
