THE FOV WAS REDUCED
What the ♥♥♥♥ happened??? Now, on the most recent fov setting, the game is much closer than it was in sight! Thats horrible!! Why devs change exactly this thing and didn't warn us about this???
Techland wtf???? :rage: :rage: :rage:
P.S. After the discussion, i beg to developers Can you add a custom option to change range viewmodel fov in game? (without getting into files) That's be greatful.

Okay, why was this change even made?

if you familiar with modding Dying Light 2 you can use a modded player_variables.scr file and look for the line " Param("AntiFovScale", "0.02");" and change its value to 0.0 the fov remains the same as it did before its just the player model fov has been reduced presumably to fix anim bugs on higher fov's

Thought it's just me. It's as if the game is uncertain as to which FOV to go by because when using paraglider or falling from great height and other actions, it switches back and forth for a bit.

Nope man, i've got the same. Anyway that's all can be modified just like canadianborn says, but still idk why devs change stuff like this without any discriptions to players

I’ve noticed that too and it looks like they removed dlss frame generation. Either i’m blind or they did indeed removed it.

what i would do is copy a pak file and name it dataX the X being the number of your choice besides 0 and 1 which are all the main paks the game use make sure the only file in the pak is scripts/player/player_variables.scr then you can edit it using notepad or any text editor of your choice search for the line mentioned above and set it 0.0 save and allow the changes to be made.

launch DL2 with steam offline there is an event flag currently enabled that disables mods that modify scripts

There's no FOV change. We added a special effect that scales the player's mesh to revert the FOV transformation so that the player and their weapon appear always the same no matter what FOV player choose. So if you increase FOV and don't see more of the player or the weapon then it's working correctly as expected.
GoobleMoWizard Feb 26, 2024 @ 6:21am
I honestly don't mind the change. Having too high of FOV makes the arms see through, when they're not supposed to.
