Movement still feels clunky and not smooth.
IDk what to say, but the movement und parkour still feels not very reactive and smooth in this game. I played the first game after a long time again to compare and I directly got a familiar feeling with this. Sadly I Cant say the same about DL2. Techland, please patch the movement and make it like the first game, but keep the new moves and techniques.

I completely agree. The movement in this game is probably half as good as the first. I've died to falling more than anything else in the entire game because the movement is so horrendous. Here's hoping they actually rework it eventually.

tbf its still skill based, you falling is your fault almost always lmao.

Although the paraglider can have some real jank with it, you think you wont die when you use it, then you hit the ground and die lmao. otherwise normal parkour is pretty much always the players fault

Idk what people mean by clunky and not smooth when they say this. I play dying light 1 still, sometimes and that one just feels like its more smoothish feeling due to it not being as technical as this 2nd one. Plus the fact in this one your guy is a super human so he is able to glide a lot more due to being able to jump further, which makes it feel REALLY weird compared to the first.

To me this is just preference based. I like both systems.

they wont "patch" it though, as its working as intended. There are mods to help with this "issue" though, since many do pref the first games style more.

Why do I hate him? You can't attack or jump, so if it happens to you and you have a zombie in front of you, it's certain death on Nightmare difficulty.

I mean it makes sense, you wont be standing up right IRL lmao, youd be sliding down. I dont even think about it cuz Ive been on that steep of hills and such before, youre not going to be swinging very well lmao.

One of the things I guess I hate, is theres like one building type thats fairly rare, that seems liek you can climb the windows but you cant lol.

You are absolutely right, it is real that this happens, but it breaks the dynamism that you can achieve when you run across the roofs, which by the way, if you do it well, music starts playing at a pretty cool rhythm.

The buildings you hate can be found next to the first peacekeeper base, where they capture you, I hate them too hehe

The music plays no matter what if youre running for long enough o.o. But it gets more in depth i think if you have good momentum going.
Another reason why I try not to use the paraglider as much lmao.

And yeah I think thats the only place really the buildings are that you cant climb, Theres building with metal shutters, but those dont count since I think it looks like it makes sense that you cant climb those easily.

I think that's fair to an extent. I agree for sure about the paraglider though. I think in general movement feels very slippery. Something about the movement in Dying Light 1 just felt sharper and more responsive.

Player stutters over small-to-middle-sized objects and even zombies reacting to them like to some solid environment obstacle, the combat gets worse from where you try to maneuver more (Dying Light's franchise main feature).

This game is in the same atrocious state two and half years later. No signs of DLC 2, not even "Tower raid" was implemented six months later. In addtion, no sign of even slightest guilt from the devs that only prolong the inevitable by now. Yes, this franchise is dead so is game studio. As for me, I call for others, it's time to move on.

womp womp, 650 hours, you sure really seemed to dislike it :^) Such a dead game/franchise/studio. even though theyre still selling well and have a good player base still. So dead.

If they release this stuff, youd only cry about how it doesnt feel finished. So you rush them, then get mad and cry when its rushed. But you also get mad when they delay things so its not as buggy lmao.

Valid complaints still, but bruh.

Not saying the first game is perfect, but DL2 movement has many issues

1.stuck by weird object for no reason, like discomposing corpses, branches on rooftops.

2.Colliding with moving npcs make you float. This become apparent when you fight enemies. When both of you are moving towards each other, your character floats. Your attacks become jumping attacks.

3.uneven grounds stop Aiden from running.

4.not ledge grabbing the correct object. You aim at the upper ledge and Aiden decide to grab the lower one, and sometimes the opposite happens

5. the game cannot distinguish the right moment to execute Dodge and Jump. Sometimes when you fight enemies, you press dodge but your character decides to jump. This issue exacerbates when you fight Banshee/Hag. I did some experiment and found out if camera is above certain angle, you cannot dodge but only jump, even though you're in combat

Number 1. I rarely get stuck personally, usually its the para-glider making me land it weird spots that makes me stuck for a bit

Number 2. sucks... It almost always happens cuz a spearman spit roast me, and then another dude gang bangs me from behind in rapid attacks, and then theres an object on another side. 2nd worst way to die.

For number 4, Parkour assist will cause you to glide towards things you dont wanna grab and make parkour feel super bad. infact this was a major reason why people thought objectively at launch this games parkour was terrible. And still is a reason people find it weird. With more players knowing about it though, its now just subjective

Number 5. The only reason your character jumps is just because you press jump, before the movement keys lol. Other wise It never actually just doesnt dodge unless youre looking up more than 85 degrees, very rare cases youll be doing that, at least to me. I dont focus on the hags unless 1v1, I just listen to sound ques, so I never get in those situations. Still devs should make this a different bind lmao. Double binds for the two most important moves sucks.

The most frustrating deaths in this game are what I call: "death by scenery" or "death by zombie on the ground", this gets a lot worse when in nightmare mode, a zombie on the ground can kill you with two hits, but You can't do anything to it because it collides with you and lifts you off the ground.

Death by scenery is similar, but what happens is that you are shot into the sky when you collide with a zombie lying on the ground or other trash.

These things are typical of Bethesda games, especially if the game ran at more than 60fps, but in my case I have it limited to 60fps

the two hitting only last for like a few levels, at least by normal zombies lol. Volatiles will be 2 or 3 hitting you up till level 9 and past that, till you get more hp.

Also when you get shot into the air, its prolly cuz youre sprinting and jumping, making it so you vault. Which can launch you high enough to damage you if you have no "fall distance" skills.

Floating above zombies is the best :^) Zombies on ground made me look out for zombies on ground. I dont have issues with em now, since my eyes trained to see the movement of them, or how theyre stiff.

The only death by scenery I ever get, is when you para-glide and land on somethign but youre sliding down slowly, and it still counts you as mid air, so you can fall 1 foot after the sliding is done and instantly die lmao. Kinda funny when it happens, and you know the areas after a few times thatll itll happen. usually its with the big buildings in the hub city. Pretty much any death by scenery is due to the paraglider having weird issues about getting stuck, or thinking youre flying still when youre not. I had to learn to avoid falling into corners, say like a window sticking out, on the steep side of the roof, if you land in the seems youll get stuck for a few seconds This can sometimes make the game think youve been falling for a long time too, and kill you xD This is pretty rare now though, as I avoid it. And even if you dont its still a small percent in happening, but over 50 hours youll notice it
