How do you get the flashlight so wrong.
First of all, in real life and dying light 1 the flashlight is not orthographic, its perspective, but for some odd reason the dl2 flashlight is orthographic. plus the flashlight light texture is so garbage. and is it really that hard to add flashlight inertia, modders did it.

for anyone who doesn't know who orthographic is here is a definition from google.
In the perspective view (the default), objects which are far away are smaller than those nearby. In the orthographic view, all objects appear at the same scale.

I totally agree with you, man. The flashlight in this game sucks big time. It’s like they forgot how light works in the real world. It doesn’t make any shadows, it doesn’t change shape or color, it doesn’t bounce with ray tracing on. It just looks like a cheap sticker that makes everything brighter. It’s so annoying and immersion-breaking. I stopped playing because of this too. I thought they would obviously fix it or someone would mod it, but nope. Haven't played it. The only mod I found makes the flashlight always on, which is even worse. It’s like playing with a giant spotlight on your head. I can’t believe they messed up such a simple thing. It’s a shame, because the rest of the game is pretty good.

i like that it just makes things visible over it being realistic, its a game about parkour and zombies, neither of these things are real so why should i expect the flashlight to be realistic?

well if the flashlight is such a big part of nighttime and indoor looting why not at least make it not absolute garbage. you don't have a good point.

isnt the point of it to see in the dark? i dont see the issue here, it serves its purpose, you should be too busy running away in chases or fighting in nighttime to bother to look how realistic the flashlight is.
ppl whine about anything these days lol

It's an easy fix/overhaul, and like i said if it's such a big part of the nighttime and indoor experience why not get it right.

they have a ton of devs, plus if anyone can spend precious time on useless things it would be techland. for example suitcase with wheels that actually works like a suitcase with wheels.

I find it more interesting that in coop you cant even see each the flashlight of other players.
Sure I assume this could be tied to performance or what not, but its still strange..

kinda late but i wholeheartedly agree with you here!
the flashlight objectively sucks and i prefer to keep it off whenever i can.

its way too bright and turning it on in the dark makes the already muddy textures look even worse :')

ray traced flashlight doesnt help either, still looks and feels extremely artificial imho.

i hate it when games do that :/ there's plenty of (older) games that can do this, like left 4 dead for example. i haven't tried coop in dl 2 yet, but damn what a shame if you enjoy little details like that.

Excuse me but I have no idea what an orthopedic flashlight is in this context.

it means, the flash doesn't get smaller as you get closer to a wall, and it doesn't get bigger as you get further from the wall.
and its orthographic not orthopedic.
