Why is only the blueprint of the VIRAL RUSH Event upgradable to legendary ???

Why should I waste 70 scrap/metal to craft an artefact weapon, when I get much better legendary weapons from yellow chests during the day or from yellow special infected during the night for free ???
This makes these BP's kind of pointless !!!
