The pure amount of complaints about inventory being loss, performance issues, flickering graphics with Dx12, and constant crashing (Not to mention some players like myself not even being able to get past the Main Menu any more; Despite verifying files and reinstalling) shows the lack of testing and diligence. They rushed the update because Dead Island 2 has their update. This update was not released with the players in mind, it was released with competition in mind and the implementation has caused the game to be unplayable for a lot of players. You can easily see this to be true by looking at the discussions and various forums with players expressing the about indicated issues and more. There is no reason that the game should stop working for a bunch of players, or that the performance should drop 20-40 FPS, or that the inventory should disappear. If they hotfix the issues, cool. Still reflects on them.
If you are not facing any of the issues that a lot of other players are, cool. The "spitting in our our faces" statement is in light of the fact that they rushed the update out due to competition instead of doing what would be best for their own community (i.e. testing and ensuring they are not wiping progress over a year after launch)... Enjoy the game if you are unaffected. Know that your experience does not account for everyone. Enjoy the game, at least until Techland breaks your save that you spent time progressing because this seems to be a common occurrence. They have been breaking save files since launch. If a lack of consideration towards the player's progressed saved is not an indication of "spitting in our face", I think we need to reassess what the phrase means. Because I don't see any reason saves should be constantly affected by all their decisions unless they just don't care.
sorry that your progress got ruined bro, but it sounds like one of those problems that could not be foreseen or replicated. I too had saves ruined in other games by different stuff, but hey, free replability
stay positive bro
All we need now is the Parkour Update to make the parkour feel more forceful, along with further improvements to the physics. And finally a good story through redesigning the base game's narrative (unlikely), or by making a phenomenal story expansion.
It's also annoying that the game is incentivizing us to play through the mediocre story and quests again to receive weapon blueprints that we should have already unlocked. But better late than never I guess. Hopefully they will fix the blueprint upgrade costs for all the tools as well, the increased virals is a placebo on the broken grind based system.
Anyways we can only hope that this game continues to become the gem it deserves to be.
I mean, I don't use mods...
