I think it's a coding issue.
This my issue too. The amount of them that hunt you in the night makes moving at night not enjoyable. As soon as you engage a biter or howler, the noise will bring in the volatiles, and then you are done. The other biggest issue is basically how they are impervious to any weapon or tool. I tried the UV bars but they simply do not last enough time.
Night time in DL2 was just a joke before, now its more in line with the first game,
how ever every single roof has on on it and i think that was a bit off overtuned on thier part.
