Funny that you only told me to tone it down & not the people that defend Techland.
‘Things are being cut all the time in production’ is not an argument in your favour. It reinforces my point. When a company shows their game years before release, they know it’s not representing the final product. They do it anyway because it’s an advertising tactic.
It’s simple, don’t advertise a product until you know what the final product will be. Look at Age of wonders 4 If you want a good example of how to announce & market a game.
You’ve no argument for your point of view. You even had to fabricate a narrative that I’m angry over Techland adding a feature to the game, something I never said. I said that Techland is not a trustworthy company because Dying Light 2 is not the game they first advertised. That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.
This is normal these days, games continue to get support well past the year it was released. If you want a complete game where you like it or not, get a Switch.
It's normal because people like you just accept it. You also fabricate a narrative that I'm upset that they are adding things to the game, something I never said. It's just showcasing your inability to read if anything & your inability to come up with any argument to why you think it’s ok for companies to advertise one thing & deliver something else.
I read it, you are whining over something being added for free like every other entitled gamer who thinks a 100gb modern game should be as flawless as a 1mb snes retro game.
Have you watched any game trailers dude? They all feature cut content, including several on your played list. Movies do it too, welcome to the modern entertainment industry.
But sure, Techland is the problem. And anyone who disagrees is deaf and stupid. Have fun.
Again it's normal because you accept it. "Other companies do it" is not an argument in defence of companies falsely marketing products. It's a sign of your inability to see change.
Companies are not forced to announce games years before release. They choose to. They know that it will not represent the final product. Are you defending this? Something that's actually bad for you as a consumer. If that's not stupidity what is?
Look how Triumph Studios handled the announcement of Age of Wonders 4. They announced it 3 to 4 months before release. Which meant they could stream actual gameplay & talk about mechanics that are in the game.
You jumped in & made up an argument I never made, to defend companies falsely marketing products. You're still doing it by framing it as if I think Techland is the main problem when I just pointed out that techland is part of the problem. I did not say you were deaf & stupid, you made yourself feel that by jumping into a discussion without having a solid ground to stand on, so you had to create arguments I never made, so you could defend Techlands.
Because adding microtransactions that's not just DLC is what everyone wants...
It’s still you because it’s not about the sliding knife feature, it’s about Techland as a company. The sliding knife feature is part of the example, it’s not the core topic. So CyanCatMan is responding to the overall topic, while you only focusing on the sliding knife feature which is not the main topic. You are digging your own grave deeper & deeper.
Doesn't seem like a smart company to me.
Keep reaching, it's cringe how hard you try to sound like the most intelligent person on steam by insulting anyone who disagrees with you.
Yea, you're missing the mark here bud. Techland at least gave a left cheek about its game enough to deliver on most of what was promised. Hell, we're even getting guns soon.
The game is fun.
I didn't watch any demos and even if i did stuff from them has always changed in final release ever since Halo 2 E3 demo and the fallout from that.
I enjoyed the first game. I bought this game. I enjoy this game. I'll buy the next one. It really is that simple.
You don't have to get involved with the pseudo armchair politics and company analysis to enjoy a game.
People really have far too much time on their hands to care about stuff like this.
What's your point exactly? Just because there are worse companies out there you can’t point out that Techland is not trustworthy? There’s always a bigger fish. I never said Techland is the worst company out there, but this is a forum for Dying Light, a Techland game. So obviously Techland will be the topic.
How am I missing the mark? Watch the videos they made from 2018, here’s a good start.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98oJYDRblLI&t=46s
Where’re all the meaningful choices you make that shape the world? More than just the design of the camps & what toys you get to play with while you run around.
Your choices have no major impact on the world. If you side with the PK in the first half of the game the Survivors don’t react to it more than a few fights & cut scenes with Sophie & her brother & the destruction of the Bazaar.
If I side with the Survivors & kick the PK’s out from the Main Terminal Station, PK is still patrolling the area. It has no impact on the world or your character, even if you save Aitor he’s not telling anyone that you murdered his men & helped the Bazaar murder all the PK in the area. You can give the VNC tower to Frank & the PK are still letting you enter their camps like nothing happened.
So when they make a post with the sentence “As a cherry-on-top, we're introducing the ability to slide down billboards with a knife, giving you more immersive gameplay.”, it's laughable. The meaning of “a cherry-on-top” is “something that makes something that is already good even better, or perfect”. The game is not even close to what they advertised back in 2018.
I’m not telling you to not play the game or not to enjoy the game. It’s completely fine that you have a good time & are happy when they drop content. I enjoy running around in the world because the parkour is really good but pretending that Techland, the company, somehow delivered what they advertised & are trustworthy, is nothing less than delusional.
Do you think companies should be allowed to advertise whatever they want, however they want even if it’s not representing the final product?
