Worse parkour than in 1?
Is it just me or is the parkour worse in this game? There are many times when the character floats or doesn't grab a ledge as he should. And he seems rather floaty and without real weight. What do you guys think?

From DL1 all i get are vibes from MP safehouse wall ledge grabs. Stupid Crane monkey animations. With all the content(even parkour actions) cut and new added i would say it's mostly equal with pros and cons. I like how smooth the pakour is in DL2. At the same time i dislike the slowmotion triggering. I understand it's made on purpose, yet sometimes it just goes against the physics. Slows too much, feel like a cheat fly mode of a kind. The "weight" goes off for most of the jumps. They could make this feel less obvious, but it is how it is.

It feels different from the first game but it's not worse
there's also mods to make it more like dying light 1 if it's that big of a deal

DL1 was a bit less floaty, but that's it. I still prefer 2's parkour to 1's.
I feel opposite, not saying it's better but I feel like my character clings onto stuff way too easily, and often unintentionally lol

to me DL2 has worse parkour .. not so fluent and often got stucked, waited for him to start focusing and continue climbing .. i would say the biggest problem for me that everything in DL2 world is build for pakour puzzle, its just doesnt feel right because of how slow the parkour is and how artificial world is

i think the game as a whole has lost its way compared to dl1. Everything feels janky and clunky. DL1 had excellent fluidd gameplay that you could master and acheive fantastic combos and multi kills. dl2 is a mess and a shame on the genre. Looking to see what dead island 2 looks like, lets hope for the best eh.

If Aiden was diving and about to drown he'd grab onto a pen and stay put rather than try to save himself. So..yup

well yeah .. you can see that almost in every cutscene where something is happening, aiden just standing there, frozen, waiting, watching someone being killed .. die .. thats why its called "stay human" because there is no humanity in the characters ..

the parkour is 100 times better in dl2

i mean crane had the same issue in dl1, he kept wall climbing like a cat on accident, on dl2 its a bit more rare
I definitely disagree. Dying Light 2's parkour is more buggy, I'd admit, but when it does work, it feels more fun than the first game's parkour.

I do agree that I wish they found a middle ground between the weight of the first game's parkour and the 2nd's tho. It is a bit floaty but I can accept it as it doesn't detriment the gameplay imo and it does make the game's parkour unique and fun in it's own way

I have no problem with my character grabbing ledges but after I played this game and returned to DL1 I realised how much better parkour is in DL2. I can't enjoy DL1 parkour anymore. I wouldn't worry about it though. Techland's 2023 roadmap says they'll bring ''parkour flow improvements'' in June

I just wish parkour wasn't so inconsistent, half the time I want to climb something I'll end up wallrunning, etc- and the reverse. Boost on the paraglider suffers from this as well -(fully upgraded) some boosts give me a good boost upwards and sometimes the boost sound plays with no boost applied.
Funny enough, but 2's parkour is based on actual camera experience of parkour professionals. You know that "floatiness"? That's actually accurate to parkour in real life. DL2 wasn't as accurate, but perhaps what's more accurate is not more fun.

Yes, its floaty, but overall better.
