Best (cheesiest way) to kill goons?

Goons are such a letdown in DL2 compared to 1. They are not magic. They can hit you 20 feet away by smashing the ground (even if you are not on the ground). I get ground pound but the radius borders on the comical.

However the most revolting thing is their windmill, which clearly should end at their weapon, but doesn't. Hitting you at almost double the length of the outstretched weapon.. There is virtually no way to know you are going to be hit when you can see what the distance should logically be and it is 2x or more beyond that. That's not skill, that's just plain immersion breaking and annoying. Goons from DL 1 were implimented much much better.

So what is the quickest way to dispatch goons?

Throwing knives are OP AF. I spent all my mutation point things into 'em and they shred everything when maxed.

Cheesiest way would be Bloody Ties weapons. Use exploit to get the arena weapons into your inventory and one or two shot everything

Side step the overhead swing. Jump the stomp. Run around in the direction of the spin attack.

Or just use arrows/bolts.

This video is a bit long winded but extensive and it helped me with Goons. About the only thing it didn't really get into is that Goons can aim upward, so be careful if you're above a Goon but still close enough to be hit by their outrageous reach.

Note: The above video does not apply for the Goons faced in the Something Big side quest series. Those Goons are a lot more outrageous. I would recommend ranged weapons (Bows, throwing knives, molotovs, etc.) against those types.

When in doubt, crossbow. It'll kill anything in just a few headshots.
