Steam client application is required in order to play the game.

Its doing it again. Steam is running. Yet it tells me this. It gets stuck in a loop. So I exit Steam and it keeps attempting to load lol. It loads but first it starts Steam and then the game launches. So to get the game to run I have to attempt to run it. Exit Steam at which point it launches by starting Steam. I think I read in the patch notes they removed third party DRM but something is borked.

Make sure your game is not set to launch as Administrator. I had the same issue. Once I unchecked the "Run As Administrator" check mark on the games .EXE file it launched fine. I re-tested this by checking the box again and the same issue happened. Not sure if that will help you but I know it worked for me and others.

I had original set the .EXE file to run as administrator because i was having crashing issue. I have noticed after the patch even without administrator checked I no longer have those crashing issues.

That was it. I think I had administrator mode ticked for a mod I was using.
