I had the same issue! It started happening after I switched from dx11 to dx12 in the settings (I wanted to test dx12 performance after the latest big update). I realized DX12 was causing it so I went into the game files and manually switched it back to DX11. Boom, game launches no problem now. My file was located in "C:\Users\name\Documents\dying light 2\out\settings"
The file is "settings.scr" - all you have to do is rename the file to "settings.txt", open it up in notepad, scroll down until you see the DirectX setting and simply replace "dx12" with "dx11" and then, save the file as "settings.scr" again. Make sure you switch it from a text file to "all files" in your file explorer before you save it, otherwise it will just show up as "settings.scr.txt" lol. Hope it fixes it for you. I know Dx11 isn't ideal for most people but at least the game will launch.

If for some reason that DOESN'T fix it, repeat the same process but also make sure that you change the "reflex" setting to "0". Reflex is causing tons of issues for people since the update. Good luck bro!

You can just set it to the DX11 Api in the video options...
No need to manually open the settings file lol.

I can read. He could have gone back into the video settings and changed it back to DX11. Why do it the slow manual way by going into the settings file. I don't think you can comprehend.
Your comment was unnecessary as it didn't add anything of value.

The OP is unable to launch the game because of the issue.

OP, you can just delete the settings folder to fully reset everything back to default if you don't want to bother with the file editing.
