bruh, not even Bethesda makes sure their updates work with mods
Quite a difference from what Bethesda does and the really deliberate and purposeful choice of Techland making it so that any mod (Including empty data paks) disable Legend levels.
This isn't a thing about incompatibility, it's about Techland, for whatever reason, making the hard line choice to not allow players to gain Legend levels when any mod is active. Even mundane mods like mouse & keyboard controls mods disable Legend levels. This is especially eye-rolling considering the history this game has with poor mouse & keyboard controls.
Exactly. This is "Our fans asked us to increase chance of zombie grabs" all over again...
Bethesda disables achievements if you mod, but Bethesda even disables console commands as part of Fallout 4's Survival difficulty, which is stupid considering how ♥♥♥♥♥ their games can be.
It seems more like people are just reaching for something malicious because Dying Light 2 bad and Techland bad because of it.
but cannot have both i guess
So you think that they mistakenly made the choice to disable Legend levels completely even when having an empty data pak mod? What are you even getting at here?
The patch notes say one thing and the game says another. Why? I don't bloody know, it's a company of over 400 people and I don't work there. All I'm getting at is that communication got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and we've got conflicting ♥♥♥♥ going on. Muddy waters, and all that.
Until John Techland himself comes out and explicitly says, "screw mods and screw you for using them", people acting as if they deliberately ruined the game and want to stop people from having fun is pointless, over-reactive hyperbole.
More can be accomplished by just tweeting at their Twitter dude or throwing in a support ticket to ask, "Yo, what's up with this?"
It's clear that there's no issue with compatibility. Besides, Techland isn't exactly the most genuine company that ever lived in life. I see no reason to give Techland the benefit of the doubt.
I'd say that it's clear that they don't want modded players to be able to interact with the Legend system, however why that may be is a bit up in the air.
How exactly does one accidentally make it so that any mod (Including empty data pak files) disable Legend levels? Have they even responded to this issue? If not, why not?
We're spinning in different directions
All I'm saying is the whole thing is inconsistent
I don't care about who, how or why, my initial reply was only about people being too dramatic
I agree, you're definitely being dramatic. :Shrugs:
