Combat Animations
A little while ago, I made a post talking about how the weapons felt bouncy and weak. After playing much longer, I think the combat feels fine, and I can tell Techland wanted combat to be faster-paced in this sequel.
However, I do feel like the weapon swing animations (especially when hitting a grounded enemy) aren't as intimate as the original's, and it would be nice to see something more akin to DL1's weapon movement here. It'd be nice to feel like my blunt weapons were crushing through an enemy instead of either bouncing off or swiping through every time.
Still having tons of fun with this game though. Glad I got a new GPU so I could experience it!

There are weapon mods that adds impact damage. Eventually with enough on it I believe one hit will throw them around like bouncy balls. I tend to use head choppers myself with a impact mod to throw burning zombies around. Even with a head slicer I throw them around a lot. But a blunt weapon with both impact on it would likely toss things around like they were simply balls to smack around at your leisure.

The bouncy animation kinda kills the combat vibe.

The combat is bad in DL2. Telegraphed levitating grabs in mid air or from meters away. Hitboxes vanishing because the zombie is in an animation of stumbling. Some enemies have ranged attack down to an aimlock. Volatiles being able to roam UV zones and kill you. Goons/Demolishers having undodgeable attack range. Zombies stack behind door gaps where you can't touch them and instantly hit you once you go through.

It really dose. Especially with human enemies. Since they block after every light attack you will pretty much always get the bounce animation

I've only really had some of these problems when fighting hags. You can't dodge their leaping attacks, and their hitboxes are insanely small while they're scurrying on the ground. AND they target me all the time out of a whole group of bandits? wtf?

The hags are definitely one of the more broken enemies in the game. I just end up pulling out the bow to kill them because of what you just mentioned.
