Fix For Save File Corruption/Deletion
For anyone who experienced their save file getting deleted/corrupted i found a fix that may work.

Causes:
1. Update that may have corrupted save file
2. The game itself (lol)

(this could happen randomly again in the future)

Solution: Replace the current save file that is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\534380\remote\out\save.

In C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\534380\remote\out\save (you may see a set of files with random big numbers instead of 534380, click through those files till you see a file named "534380") Hopefully you should see 2 files. One named "save_main_0.sav" and the other named "save_main_0_chp(whatever number you see here).sbk"

Once you locate these files you are going to want to back them up in a separate folder.
Now in the save folder, thats in the 534380, your going to want to get rid of the file named "save_main_0.sav" and rename the file "save_main_0_chp(whatever the numbers are for you).sbk" to "save_main_0.sav"

It's important that you change the file type to a .sav it should already change the file type when you rename the file. When you do change the file type through renaming it. it may give you a warning about corrupting or ruining the file. This won't since dying light 2s saves are based on both .sav files and .sbk files.

When you load back into dying light 2, and you click continue you should see your old save file.

Tips:

1. Your main save file (may be an sbk or sav but most likely sbk file) will most likely be the bigger sized files.

2. Double check that you did indeed back up these folders manually in a different folder.

(You may be set back a quest or two, maybe at most would lose like 20 minutes of gameplay, better then having to restart the whole game)

Maybe more depends on how long ago i backed up ..

i lost about 50 hours doing 'spawn at missions points' ..

and i really didn't have to ..

LOL

smart to back it up, i dont play many games that require you to have to manually backup a save file so i gotta start doing that. sucks that you lost 50 hours, i just did this and it gave me back my save file, but it only reverted me back like 2 missions after i fixed it

Just a minor note : If you replace corrupted files from backup ( don´t use renaming option) and then immediately start the game - it won´t work. Don´t know whether you have to valid files, but when I restarted STEAM, the restored files were visible and usable again.

This is third game which likes to chew up save files ( Return to Moria and Dread Delusion). One file autosave are quite unpopular for me.
