give DL2 time. DL1 was not nearly as clean as it is now only 2 months after launch. its an unfair comparison to compare DL2 now to DL1 now
DL2 won't beat DL1 though even with additional time added on top. They programmed the game to be the way it is, they aren't going to touch code after release to change core of the game.
The best they can do going forward, is make an expansion like the following that improves the plot. I think the only thing DL1 looses to DL2 is the plot and voice acting on some actors, that is about it. Gameplay can be an improvement but it is glitchy/buggy like when you try to kick a slow zombie rushing you to grab and your kick does not register because there is a dead zombie under you, you have to aim higher like aiming for the head to register the kick and it doesn't work all the time.
I'm not enjoying the city area, the first 2 areas of the game were nice, but the big city is... not so good. I do like the surrounding areas though. Hopefully they will make a large open area map as an expansion, similar to the initial area with the woods. That would be nice.
Also must have more focus on the zombies, not survivors. Kinda hate playing a zombie game and most of the focus is on the survivors, zombies feel like they are just there as side characters.
DL1: 2920
DL2: 3311
it looks the same, plays the same etc...
why you would ever do that after making such a great game like DL1 and then go and make something in the same series on par with an indie game blows my mind
They had an interesting begin story with how the virus spread again and how the cure is in the pendant of this woman that turned and it would have been great if it was our priority to find that and try to find a cure again but sadly no. its just about a generic gang war between survivers and more strict survivers.
Battlefield 1942 is still living, desert combat rages on.
While Battlefield 3 was graphical and still fun to play it couldn't hold a candle to the games that came before it.
So the lesson is, in gaming when the number on the box goes up their is an 80 percent chance the game will be worst then the last.
Example:
Just cause 2 Superior Just Cause 3 Not terrible Just Cause 4 a pos on a stick.
Empire Earth 1 Mythic Level RTS<< Empire Earth 2 sucks but not terrible Empire Earth 3 WTF were you thinking? Game and company have been dead and rotting for years.
How many games can you list that got worst everytime the number increased?
