Any way to remove rain effect on screen?

the effect is very ugly and last way to long and disrupts a big portion of my vision. i wear glasses and even real rain isn't this annoying lol.

its hard to miss since for any reason it making the MID of your screen look like someone used soap to clean it and forgot to wash it out

Not to mention that when it rains, raindrops are visible on all objects and people, even if they are under the roof. So rain is pretty bugged...

Yes, check out the mod No Post Processing Effects on nexusmods. Or just edit the file yourself (varlist_screen_drops.scr).

I thought I'd add to this. I've never seen rain in the game either. At all.

I've approached NPCs in the game and they say things like 'You're gonna get soaked in this rain!' and it is broad sunny summer daylight. Not an ounce of rain.

No HUD effects at the same time either. Just broad day light.

Something seems borked.

I am running it on High settings too. So you think I'd see at least something. Even 2d sprite rain would be something, but no. Nothing.

It only starts working after you get to the second part of the map, and apparently after the main story is finished it doesn't rain anymore.

In all the time I played DL2, I just saw once raining. And yeah, it's very annoying how it blocks your sight.

The mod is now defunct since yesterday. Game simply wont launch.
I did a temporary fix:
Open "data0.pak" in winrar (should work in 7zip too).
Navigate to the "scripts" folder and find the "varlist_screen_drops.scr" file.
Extract this file and open with text editor. In the first line where it says VarFloat("f_screen_drops_on", 1.0) change the 1 to a 0. Save the file and drag it into the scripts folder in data0.pak.
Done.
This is a haggard fix, i don't know if this will cause problems. Do at your own risk

After finishing the story and after the update I ONLY get rain. No matter if I restart the game or sleep days and nights, it still keeps raining.

When its raining half of my screen is just a blurred mess and you cannot see anything cos of it, combined with overly bright and pain inducing lens flares, yeah this needs to be removed.
