unable to connect to a player

HI, me and three other friends recently purchased dying light 2 on its release date. at the time we weren't able to join anyone, like most people we were having connectivity issues and couldn't join each other. As time passed however this issue was fixed for three of the four of us but the fourth still cant join or be joined in any form of multiplayer session. we have not progressed past the bazaar because we all want to play together. He has downloaded the latest version of the game, deleted and re downloaded the game in its entirety twice and created a new character and gone through the tutorial a second time. None of these have fixed it. None of us are very computer technical so these are the best ideas we have had so far. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and also if they have figured out how to fix it. any suggestions are welcome.

Co-op has been catastrophically broken since launch. Just try to refund the game.

The last patch that came out was 3 weeks seems like they are lacking.
