Sound issue [Please Read Thoroughly]
First things first, please read thoroughly if you would like to help me. If you don't read through entirely and you ask me a question that is answered here, I'll double check to make sure it was answered, and proceed to ignore you. I'm not gonna tell you off, nor will I repeat myself. (Happens more than you think.)

So every time I launch my game, half the sounds just flat out don't work. Namely the weapon sounds, character voice, and any sound effects he makes as well as enemies.
I've tried changing audio output to each one and testing it out to no avail. I usually have the music off but I even tried turning that to max. My sound isn't too quiet as I can hear other things like ui and event indicators. I even checked my audio mixer and it shows sound is being played but only when said few sounds actually play.

I heard a quick restart fixes all of this, but in my case the problem happens immediately. Once I'm loaded in for the first time on each launch, same issue.

So in my case, am I S.O.L.? Or is there something I can do to work around this?

Hello Desh, maybe I found a solution. It fixed the issue at least for me.

I hope it solves the issue also for you till Techland provided a fix.

My sound is usually fine, though every time I load a save I don't have sound for around 20 seconds until everything finishes loading. One time I had the same problem you described tho after joining a coop session. No weapon sounds, no nothing. Dying and respawning fixed it. Thats obviously not a permanent solution if this happens to you all the time but it might be worth trying to see if it fixes it for you, atleast temporarily.

That's a yikes... See my headset has it's own software, and whenever I try to enable it, windows says there was a problem and then proceeds to disable it.

Thank you for the help though!

hm... i heard that it could also help to reduce the channels in the audio.src file from 48000 to a lower value. Maybe you could try this.
