If it's bug, trie to join your son on his game( host )and check if you can loot it from there.
My son reached the airdrop first opened it and looted it
When i arrived it was closed, un able to open or loot the content.
IM end game farming in this area for gear and weapons
These Airdrops, loot resets.
It stays closed and i cant open or loot it
Even for my son now its closed and unable to open or loot it.
Clearly a bug
Was wondering if anyone know a fix for it or els i just have to wait till some patch that springs open all bugged airdrops
I test to join someone els, but still "close but mark as open"
It shouldn't. Or at least it didn't for me and most other people since you should be able to open it once initially before it bugs out and closes up again. Are you sure you found all other aidrops? There are a total of twelve airdrops (and five inhibitor crates) in that underwater area alone. If you've looked up the locations of all crates and have definitely opened all others, I would highly suggest reporting your experience to Techland support. I've reported the chest itself as bugged on the Dying Light 2 Bug Thread on reddit, but hopefully others will mention it also so TL will fix it.
after reaching a specific point in the game you're going to lose the GRU key for a while.
therefore you won't be able opening air drops during this time
so you both might be in different stages within your singleplayer progress and that might be the reason why you can't open that thing.
another possibility I can imagine is because of the host/slave thing.
since story progress in coop counts for the host only and inhibitors are actually limited that might be the reason why only one of you is able opening them (your son is the host, I assume?)
otherwise the partner might get all the inhibitors.
or maybe getting more inhibitors than he'd be supposed to have.
(p.e. by collecting those of his own game and additional ones by joining other players.)
so it's probably intentionally
