If you check the forums regularly, this has been a common issue since the game came out. It doesn't pay to be an early adopter and pay the most just to experience all the bugs.
C:\Users\User\Documents\dying light 2\out\save_backups
If it's in there then put it back in here->
[Steam Folder]/userdata/[User ID]/534380/remote/out/
Remember to back up ur saves people. It is located in your Documents folder It is a folder called "Dying Light 2", it is NOT located in the steamapps, User Folders...
The thing is, my game doesn't recognize the backup (it says access denied when ingame).
I don't know why, but my game gets reset when I boot it up, it's as if I booted the game for the first time and all of my settings get reset to default, my save file is gone and I can't use the backup file that it provides me in the documents.
I just lost probably 2 days worth (or more idk) of gameplay.
Now I have to redo for the second time, the whole game up until the point I was at AGAIN.
there was a larger file in there called save_main_0_chp000.sbk so I renamed it to save_main_0.sav and started the game, it was a couple of days out but better than starting again
I think theres two saves usually. Youd have to check dying light too in yor documents, and or game folder. Might even be 3, since theres also a back up. BUT yeah I agree it should have like 5 auto saves at the same time, just incase one gets messed up. BUT theres also could file save as well. For a game like this, after every play session you could copy past your save file.
Sure is. I just restarted a new game played about 5hrs then quit the game and when i booted it back up my save just isnt there at all only my old save. What a garbage system they have instead of a manual save system.
