How do you tell if you've fully looted a dark hollow?

There doesn't seem to be any prompt or indication to tell you whether or not you've gotten everything from one of these places

You dont. You just have to make sure you use your survivor sense constantly when you're in one to see if you can find a dot or not.

Its stupid. I want the icon to just disappear when you've fully looted it. I dont care that it respawns a few hours later, just tell me when I'm done with it so I can move on.

Yeah, if the icon disappeared from the map and then respawned a few hours later like you said, that would be fantastic. Right now, I'm just constantly going back into places that I'm not sure if I've fully looted and wasting time :/

Even a check mark like everything else, would be nice.

I don't think it's a big issue, but it would be nice to have some indication of whether you have everything or not. I'm playing with a friend, and the first time we looted a dark hollow, we spent 20 minutes running around the place thinking we missed something since the icon was still on the map xD

Easy, look everywhere and when there is nothing left you have cleared it.
