Stuck in loading screen
Hello
At first the game turned well, i played all the part outside the city.
Then, when escaping Waltz from the tunnels through underwater chapel, climb a ladder and then get a loading screen.
And that's all.
Stuck here.
It keeps loading (more than 20 minutes the time i let it go)

Then it's getting even hard to force quit the game.
And even to force quit Windows, because a file called : "DyingLightGame_x64_rwdi.exe" won't shut. When i try to force quit it says i'm not allow, or access refused.

Any tips please, any solutions ?
Should i simply wait for the next update hoping it will fix this ?

Thanks a lot

Hello again,
One week later still stuck on this stupid loading screen ... with only 1h30 of ingame playing.

And each time i forcequit the game it's a big mess, and i have to forcequit Windows too.
The few updates didn't fixed it ...

Any tips anybody ? Please
Am i the only one encountering this bug ?
Thanks !!

Yea that sounds like something bigger is breaking you dont really mention that youve tried anything and how exactly it happens do you now start up and get spawned in and then go to the same spot and it happens? did you disable any overlays like steam, afterburner or overclocks on your pc? Does the fix in the new patch change it? I would reccommend reinstalling the game since it seems like something is broken but go into the documents or the dying light 2 folder thats not in the program files folder and delete that as well, it deletes the settings folder thats there so once it installs itll have to do it fresh again now this will delete your save unless you have it backed up on steam. That folder will also contain the dump files for the crashes you have so you can try and open support with techland before reinstalling it if you want but it should solve it since it would rebuild whatever thing that broke. idk what else would but open a ticket with techland just in case if it comes back and mention the specs of your system too. I know it might suck but if you waited that long in a loading screen then a reinstall shouldnt be that bad

Hello robotchicken42, thanks for your answer.
I've tried different things like adding codes in the launch prefs of the game, and of course updating my drivers, but that's all because not so many people have this bug, so not so many clues to solve it ... makes it a little scary.
What's weird is that i did ran the game, and played perfectly well all the beginning, outside of town. So i guess my computer can run it (i play with bootcamp, i play at minimum perf but it's already beautiful)

When i start a new game it's working again, but i don't want to play 1h30 again to get back to the moment it bugged because if i want a chance for repayement i have to play less then 3 hours ...
For the same reason I didn't reinstall the game as you propose.

I already sent a ticket to Techland, they answered "be sur you downloaded the last update" :)

Thanks again, i'm going back to Cyberpunk2077, crossing finger the next update will fix my problem ...

And i forgot a very boring point :
I have to force quit the game, only solution to escape the loading screen, but when i'm back on Steam desk i can see the game "Dying light 2" is still ON. It didn't really quit...

Then after, when i try to close Steam, i have the message "Steam must wait for "Dying light 2" to close properly ..." ( i don't know the exact words in english, i'm french).

So i click "quit anyway" but then, when i search on Task Manager, i can still see that the file "DyingLightGame_x64_rwdi.exe" is working _

And that file prevent me from a clean quit of Window, as I have to force quit by pressing the button at the back of my iMac otherwise Windows closing screen is turning for hours ....

Boring and annoying and odd ...

Since the last patch, I have the same issue.
I can't even force close the game, I have to force close the COMPUTER...

Had similar issues, what worked for me was making sure DirectX and Visual c++ was updated.

Hello kilexe
Thanks for your answer
Shouldn't DirectX and Visuel C++ supposed to be fully updated and included with the installation of the game ?

Slender ... i sympathise ...

Have you tried changing the resolution of the game or changing the graphic settings themselves? I know the loading message pops up for me after i fast travel and exit the subways to the open instance. Sounds like it could potentially be something stupid as it not being able to read a specific texture file as it tries to render the world. DirectX is definitely a local file. Other games give the option of selecting the DX version because I think some graphics cards aren't always compatible. Visual C++ files are typically given in most installs yes. As for the game seizing up (likely the white screen) and not being responsive anymore, I get that all the time for many games not just DL2 and I have a 1080TI GPU. It could be a number of things but typically its probably a symptom of the error loop the game seems to be stuck in. Task manager force closing it does little to no harm and for games that often get backed up via steam or other unrelated mmo servers it typically doesn't ever hurt you to force close games.

Hello Sirender, thank you for your reply

Yes i did try changing the resolution, i'm now on low resolution, screen 2560x1440.
The only thing i don't really manage because i'm not sure of what it could do is the "upscaler" settings, not sure to understand all the differences between LSR and the rest ... maybe i should try something here.

What i really don't understand is that i did play the game, and it was running very nicely.
Was it because it was all the part outside the town ? And maybe the city map changes things in the settings requirement ? i don't know...

I updated C+++ as Kilexe was suggesting but didn't solve my problem.

What's more annoying is that each time i launch the game to try any solution, i end up force closing the computer ... because after force quiting "DyingLight2" nothing respond anymore, it's like this stupid "DyingLightGame_x64_rwdi.exe" file is bugging everything.
Very boring.

The last thing i could do is reinstalling, but that solution never worked for me.

Well my problem is not solved and big up to Techland Support who didn't gave me a single tip for solving it ...
I finally tried a clean new re install with the last update, but sadly it didn't solve anything ...

Even worse, now i don't have ANY SOUND AT ALL (not in the menu, not in the game) ....
That's the most f*¨cked up buggy game i've ever (tried to) play ...

Any ideas for the "no sound at all" bug ?

Enjoy the game if you can !

me too after latest patch I have no sound.
