Weapon repair
Before I even think about buying this does it still have that infuriating limited weapon repair system. You find a nice weapon and then it breaks permanently after x repairs.

the weapons still break and you can't repair it in DL2

you can get 50 durability back by puttting a mod on it , so you have to use your weapon with out mod first then when it's gonna break you put mods on it to get that durability back.

but you can apply one mob by slot once , so .... , it's worse then in DL1

so thats a pass for me then =( shame. I despised the repair system and even more so when you find a 1 of a kind sword then it breaks. I really dont see why they needed durability in the first place. isnt a game supposed to be fun?

The level 10 upgrade mod for shafts makes the weapon indestructible.

Good news is, it no longer has that system! Bad news, it doesn't really have a repair system at all anymore.

Repairs are now done as a part of modifying a weapon; each mod applied to a weapon (which can be done once per slot, up to 3 slots on the best weapons) will repair a flat amount of durability. This means you can stretch out a good weapon for a decent amount of playtime, but eventually, it will break.

This was similarly infuriating at first, but this game does have many ways to replenish your weapon inventory with top-tier weapons at your own comfort, so while technically you will eventually lose every weapon you find, you can continually replace them at your own convenience. I always have a stock of new top-tier weapons to cycle in as my old weapons break, and these new ones will be a higher gear-level and have free slots for better mods, so I'm never sad to see an old weapon go.

I think you will find the first hour or two annoying for this reason, but don't let that be the reason to prevent you from getting the game. The current flow of replacing weapons make it really not something that will affect you at all. Perhaps look on youtube for a video of where to find good respawning gear; completely solves this issue.

I've beaten the game and at no point have I even cared about durability, by the time the weapon I'm using breaks I'll have at least three that are better.

Post game, you can get a mod that reduces durability use by 90%, plus using other mods to repair 50 durability a pop you're getting (based on my best weapon's durability of 210), 2,100 effective durability without repair, 3,100 if you maximise applying mods at the right time.

Still has durability, but it's very very manageable.

lol there is no repair. But weapons last a while and you get 4 weapon slots and can hold 24 weapons at once. You will cycle out your old weapons for upgrade lvl weapons before you break just the 4 you have equiped.

Trust me its not an issue

weapon system is very good purple and legendary weapons usually last very long to the point where u will find much better greens until they break... all it takes is to have addons ready which are treated as both upgrades and repairs.

Ok great, thank you for all the info guys =)

imagine you find a weapon and can use it the entire game... must be really boring hm?

legendary and DLC weapons should be re-craftable once you found / bought them..

This is the single thing about this game that I find perplexing and infuriating. It gives the player zero incentive to care about loot. Instead of getting excited about having looted the Darksaber all I see is ‘weapon’ and the only stat I care about is 1h vs 2h. In a small period of time your new weapon is going to break and you will just toss it. Because in the future fixing stuff is beyond human understanding.

They should add a real weapon crafting system where a player can take actual agency over their gear. Same for armor. Repairs should be possible. Maybe a spec in the combat tree. Pay a vendor otherwise. There is scrap all over the place. It should be trivial for them to allow you to use some of it to repair a weapon. I understand wanting to 'encourage' trying different weapons but this is a choice the player should have. They should have the option of having a favorite weapon or armor. Perhaps you could use rare crafting loot to upgrade existing weapons to a new level. What they are actually encouraging now is the player thinking of themselves as the only real weapon in the game, because the PC is the only thing that is persistent.

I am loving the rest of the game. The thought and craft that went into the parkour system is amazing. But they need to rethink the equipment.

its to make you try different weapons and use different stuff rather than just use the same weapon for half the game until it gets stale. It's also keeps scavenging always relevant. Because you will always need new weapons and materials to mod them with.

I'm not a big fan of this no-repair system. WE, as the player, should decide when we have outgrown a weapon. Let us freaking repair, FFS.

what difference does it make if you can repair a weapon 3 times or if you get no repairs but the durability is 3 times longer? Really, the act of having to stop and repair weapons in DL1 was just unnecessary tedium.
