you can get 50 durability back by puttting a mod on it , so you have to use your weapon with out mod first then when it's gonna break you put mods on it to get that durability back.
but you can apply one mob by slot once , so .... , it's worse then in DL1
Repairs are now done as a part of modifying a weapon; each mod applied to a weapon (which can be done once per slot, up to 3 slots on the best weapons) will repair a flat amount of durability. This means you can stretch out a good weapon for a decent amount of playtime, but eventually, it will break.
This was similarly infuriating at first, but this game does have many ways to replenish your weapon inventory with top-tier weapons at your own comfort, so while technically you will eventually lose every weapon you find, you can continually replace them at your own convenience. I always have a stock of new top-tier weapons to cycle in as my old weapons break, and these new ones will be a higher gear-level and have free slots for better mods, so I'm never sad to see an old weapon go.
no it does not , you'll keep your weapons much longer but you still loose durability
i have it on most of my weapons
Post game, you can get a mod that reduces durability use by 90%, plus using other mods to repair 50 durability a pop you're getting (based on my best weapon's durability of 210), 2,100 effective durability without repair, 3,100 if you maximise applying mods at the right time.
Still has durability, but it's very very manageable.
Trust me its not an issue
legendary and DLC weapons should be re-craftable once you found / bought them..
They should add a real weapon crafting system where a player can take actual agency over their gear. Same for armor. Repairs should be possible. Maybe a spec in the combat tree. Pay a vendor otherwise. There is scrap all over the place. It should be trivial for them to allow you to use some of it to repair a weapon. I understand wanting to 'encourage' trying different weapons but this is a choice the player should have. They should have the option of having a favorite weapon or armor. Perhaps you could use rare crafting loot to upgrade existing weapons to a new level. What they are actually encouraging now is the player thinking of themselves as the only real weapon in the game, because the PC is the only thing that is persistent.
I am loving the rest of the game. The thought and craft that went into the parkour system is amazing. But they need to rethink the equipment.
its to make you try different weapons and use different stuff rather than just use the same weapon for half the game until it gets stale. It's also keeps scavenging always relevant. Because you will always need new weapons and materials to mod them with.
what difference does it make if you can repair a weapon 3 times or if you get no repairs but the durability is 3 times longer? Really, the act of having to stop and repair weapons in DL1 was just unnecessary tedium.
