Do you like 2-handed, or 1-handed weapons more?

I'm not very far into the story, but so far 1-handed weapons seem to take 4-5 hits to the head, were as 2-handed take require just two strikes; not even that much slower either

I was going with Brawler gear and still felt like 2-handed is better? Should I go all Medic/Tank gear from now on instead?

^9 means it does 9 more damage then your current weapon.

Two handed axes are my favorite though.

i have only played 2H/tank so far, so its kind of biased, but IMO makes the game feel a bit too easy. it just becomes stat stick vs sponges. from what i've seen, other playstyles at least encourage some other form of engaging/fighting the enemies rather than ME SMASH

Honestly, my favourite weapon kinda broke my entire immersion of the game. If you give the PK's enough zones you get given a semi auto crossbow that scales with your level and has 5 bolts a clip. The thing slaughters anything that can even slightly threaten your life. It was a god send and just let me bring death upon my enemies. So long as you purchase out all the shops and craftmasters every time you go back to a hub you will always have bolts when you need them. They are especially useful for special infected, humans, and bosses.

Meh, I just take the 4 weapons that deal the most damage. I dont try to min/max my gear as I usually have one good piece that improves 1hand weapons and 1 good piece of gear that increases 2 handed weapons. I sell all the low tier gear and just keep purple and better.

I like two handed (sharp) weapons the most (axes, swords, glaives), because they just hit everything in front of you with one swing. For example you can just go in a shop at day time and just kill every zombie in there with just some swings. My second favorite is the PK Crossbow, because its just really broken and a lot of fun (encounters are a joke when you have it).

You can also pick your favourite weapon and put the Korek Charm on it (+500 durability) then when the weapon comes close to breaking, you take the charm off and put it back on which repairs it for another 500 durability.

Edit: you do require all of the nightrunner tools before you can acquire the Korek Charm.

The things I run right now are the Korek charm for repairs on my melee workhorse. The Hussar 1h sword (about 410 damage per hit and almost 300 durability) and all purple or artifact brawler gear. The cost of swinging the Hussar is tiny and can mow down a ton of enemies with no real impact to stamina. I keep a set of bladed knuckles handy for tight indoor spaces where sword swings might be obstructed. They have an electric crit mod for group stuns on every crit. Also, I have the PK crossbow because it's pretty OP at 994 damage per hit plus elemental bolts like the freeze and impact variety.

The trouble with relying on the Korek charm for specific OP weapons is that you need a back up weapon for when you run low on durability in a multiplayer run. If you mess up you lose your gear to a break that you would normally be able to prevent mid fight in a solo run.

sliding with 2h obviously, then follow up by 360 swing to clean everything near your aoe.
Also somewhat relieved that ranged weapon are effective against volatile unlike DL1

I haven't done the Techland sign up. Is the Hussar sword re-useable like the Ultimate edition weapons, or is it just a one-off?

i have 600+ dmg on crossbow and 140 on bow, but it looks like bow deals more damage in 1 shot then crossbow, wtf?

Bow damage get larger the longer you hold the firing button, also crossbow damage are based on host level.
If you are lvl 9 and joining lvl 3 host. Your crossbow will get downgraded to level 3 thanks to the scaling system.

1h weapons running double maxed crit mods get the full 50% crit rate and both effects triggering simultaneously, and have the fast swing speed to keep triggering them. Pairing a good, high damage debilitating effect like Spark with a high damage effect like Flame or Fling just makes you feel like a god, with the former letting you incinerate hordes casually and the latter better suited for taking down tough enemies.

Its a single weapon that scales to host level. After it breaks it's gone I believe
