Voice acting
I like the game overall a lot, but just me or is the voice acting just.. Comical? Main characters are fine, but sidequest characters are voiced almost like they belong in an episode of Scooby Doo. I realize the sidequests are super wacky, but still.

youre supposed to be in what seems like a German / generic European city, yet almost every NPC is generic person from the USA. it //completely// takes me out of the setting of the game and its one of the bigger negatives for me.

really? the amount of british-sounding characters there are in this game is very high. Honestly a couple sounded like they came from an episode of Eastenders

you havent heard any of the terrible over the top US redneck voice lines? they are so jarring and out of place for me

i have not heard anything like that. I have heard many different types of npcs which is nice instead of the same over and over like most games do. There are so many different speaking npcs in this game. I personally love it.

I agree. My main criticism of the game so far. There is an off putting amount of Americans which does feel weird and jarring. Also where tf are my Australian vendors!?

The voice lines of the Renegades hurt me physically

I really dislike the voice actor of Aiden. It's almost like the developers went out of their way to find someone who sounds exactly like Kyle Crane. Total cringe.

That being said, I really enjoy the variety of all the NPCs and random survivors.

Yeah it's the "bandits". Sounds like a bad impression of a cowboy from texas

I dont mind the American accents. Its fine. It's literally the way the lines are delivered. Again, not talking about main characters that are clearly motion capped, and real actors. Like Lawan = That girl from Men In black 2 and Clerks 2 & 3 I cant remember the name of. You can clearly see it's her and I didnt even know she was involved with this game. Stuff like that is awesome. But things like kids are voiced by adults in overly exxagerated ways by doing cutesy voices. It's cartoon characters, like youre watching Batman cartoons from the 1990's. Super monotone, at times as well. I realize its a game coming out of eastern europe, and they tend to cut corners in some places. The side quests just seem so low budget.

The kids are the worst.. exactly what you said. Like are there no child or preteen voice actors? "Brass thingama do-hicky" like what planet does a twelve year old talk like that lol.

Kids voiced by adult trying bring their voice tone up in pitch simply results in a freakish, creepy vibe. Is it so hard to get young voice actor talent? Overall the VO direction and production feels somewhat low budget in too many areas :/

Everything except for the main characters that are motion capped and face modelled after the actor. That stuff is great. The rest, not so much.

Pretty much exactly what I mean

I honestly have no idea where I am in this one. I hear suppose to be European but then in the background I see a suspension bridge much like the one from Dying Light 1 thinking that were in the other section of that City that we seen way off in the distance in the first game.

And yes, the variation of cultures in voices is really out of place.

Didn't they mention "New Paris" in the tutorial to the game? I think it's safe to say it's suppose to be some generic western european city. France, Germany, Belgium, Holland. That general area. Harran from the first game is in southern Turkey
