FIXES for Network: Disconnected or Co-Op disconnecting

STEAM USERS
If you are stuck on Network: Disconnected here are a few options that have fixed my problems, this is just a collection of things I've read in here.

Change your DNS to Google DNS.
Right click your internet icon
Open Network & Internet settings
Change Adapter Options
Right click your own connection and select properties
Make sure Internet Protocol Version 4 & Internet Protocol Version 6 are checked.

For Internet Protocol Version 4, click on it and select properties
At the bottom you'll the see option 'Use the following DNS server addresses'
The top row you'll want to put as:
8.8.8.8
and the row under it
8.8.4.4
Press OK and save it!

Now for Internet Protocol Version 6
Same thing click on properties and select 'Use the following DNS server addresses'
First line put:
2001:4860:4860::8888
second line put:
2001:4860:4860::8844

Now try launching your game and seeing if you are connected and can invite your friends or join them, THIS one did not fix for me but has for my friends and other people in the discussions.

What DID fix for me is making sure my friends list is under 300.
I was at 327 steam friends at went down to 310, didn't work. 304, didn't work.
I just now set my friends list to 299 and launch the game and I am now connected and the 'Empty Slot' words now changed to 'Add Friends'

I hope this helps, because as someone who hasn't been able to play with my friends for about 2 days and have been doing personal tech support this was a headache and now I can play with them.

Wow...it actually worked. reducing friends list to less than 300 worked.
I am now 298/1000 though.
As a work around this is great, but I hope they fix the core problem...as Im sure that number will creep up again.

To be fair a normal customer shouldn't need to do all that to get a game to coop.

Followed every instruction and still no luck, tried this for Wifi

i have been having this issue for DAYS, cant seem to figure out whats causing it, ive tried changing everything, DNS and all, after some trial and error i sometimes manage to get it working but then the next day/night when i try again it breaks again and then im stuck in this loop of going into my save, leaving to the main menu, trying to reconnect and then getting disconnected again, i seem to only be connected to the network when im in the main menu, when i try to join it says connection cannot be established and then network connection to the server are lost or something like that, i really dont understand whats happening, in any other game my internet works fine, there is only 1 game that does this to me as well, which is MHW, and that is because i am trying to connect and play with a friend thats on the other side of the planet so i can understand why that happens, but not here

Try the lower your friends list to under 300 friends on Steam method if you are over that amount, to me and others in this thread that fixed the issue entirely, if that doesn't work I'm not too sure what else to do, sorry!
