GAME DOESN'T LOAD INTO MAIN MENU! STUCK ON LOADING SCREEN!

I've tried everything:

1. Reinstalled it twice
2. Reinstalled it a third time on another drive
3. Updated to the most recent nVIDIA GPU driver
4. Rebooted not only Steam but also PC several times over
5. Verified files on both drives twice over
6. Tried using HOMAK as well as Gamepad, same result

What I've noticed: after the download for the main game finishes, even if I restart Steam right after that, I do not get a download for a Day 1 patch at all... now either the game already downloads that with the main game DL, or the patch delivery is broken somehow.

Either way, the issue stays the same:
Ever since the game released, it has been unplayable because I do not even get to see the main menu.

I get to the "Press any key to start" screen, and no matter which key or button I press, after that, I get an eternal black loading screen, and nothing else happens.

Welp, I'm done with this game... since I got it as a gift, I can't refund it (which I would do otherwise!), but I definitely won't be playing it any time soon.

Some issues at launch are one thing, but the game not even booting into menu is just ridiculous.

Same with the bait&switch Techland pulled regarding Denuvo being added in secret a few days before release... sorry Techland, but you're officially on my "Never ever preorder and only buy during sales if at all"-list now.

I figured it out, the loading is just very slow. Leave it for a few minutes.
You will be greeted by the menu, then it will freeze for a few secs.
next just start the game and it will slow load to another menu where you adjust brightness and whatever.
Just deal with the slow loading for now.

I'd take slow loading over 'Not loading at all/Not Responding' any day of the week.
It's a nice banner, but for 50 quid, I want *just* a bit more for that amount of cash.

I had a similar problem with rage 2 when it came out, it would never load to the main menu i think it had to do with the gfx card i had at the time but that was an AMD RX 580 or something like that, sadly i can't say more than that because i did refund it after 2 weeks with no fix and when i bought it back years later i had completely new computer.

If it says starting game for 2 seconds and then go back to the normal its most likely the cause of your cpu lacking AVX support, I myself am in the same boat with an i7 980x which is more than powerfull enough for all newer games on low-medium, but no, cant even get an error, google your cpu and see if it has AVX support, example: i7 980x does it support AVX

It would be a good idea for anyone who has issues with the game to post their system spec. Other wise its difficult to help sort out the problem. The fact that most of the people who got the game can load into it suggests the issue is to do with the PC and or software you are using.

To those having this issue.. It's like 99% certain caused by Denuvo (DRM) it have been reported it can take upward of 10 minutes to load to title AND you can only launch the game FIVE times a day as the game need to recheck your activation key with Denuvo's server every time to launch the game.

I've been suffering ridiculously long launch times for DL2 and finally figured out the issue - it's my security software Bitdefender. Adding DL2 to the exceptions in Bitdefender has reduced the launch times from about 5 minutes to 15 seconds.

Worth a try if you're having launch issues!
