Binding mouse4 and mouse5 should be a non issue for modern games. How this developer could miss something this easy is baffling to me.

This isn't just M4 and M5, it's true of M1 and M2 if you wanted to rebind those as well. The whole rebinding UI is simply busted around mouse buttons.

try to use mouse software. i can change my mouse buttons to anything with logitech. guess i could be wrong .but know it helped me out in other games that wouldnt let me bind mouse buttons

Thank you for the idea but even if it works, we shouldn't have to do that. This is basic PC port requirement.

oh i hear ya for sure.in myth of empires i couldn't bind a key and was so pissed but logitech software let me macro the mouse buttons and fixed my problems.but yea is 2022 every buttong should be bindable

Interesting, for me the game completely freezes whenever I try to bind mouse button 4 or 5. It's a razer naga epic chroma.

Have to force close it trough task manager.

Same, in DL1 I used them for my equipment and MMB to kick which was nice.

Same issue here, trying to restart using different APIs, with or without gamepad plugged in, etc., see if it helps, but so far no luck.

Won't be able to play at all like this, so I guess I'll stare at the main menu for a while.

When trying to change a keybind to a mouse button, you can unstuck the game by pressing escape. It will appear as if the keybind has been saved, but it won't.
