Yes, I'm aware of this but I was wondering if Brecken was Brecken's last name
so yes its his last name
altho i dont think aiden caldwell knew brecken, but i guess we will see
1. I hope it does reference the previous game quite a bit, otherwise it'll feel like a spinoff or not really a sequel.
2. No no no, the real question is where is my boy Gazi. And Fatig(?) and Tolga(?), the inventors that disappeared by train.
3. Exactly! I loved The Following, but it completely disregarded what happened at the end of the first game. Like, they'd practically developed the cure at the end of it. Then all of a sudden, in The Following, they kinda just forgot about it and all sortsa random ♥♥♥♥ happened.
That makes no sense. Aiden is younger than Kyle and is played in the future. This alone makes your claim have 0% chance of being valid.
If you said something like "Aiden could be related to kyle crane somehow", then it would be more believable. Both characters have the same voice actor if i am not mistaking, when i first saw the gameplay trailer and Aiden started talking, i instantly noticed the voice being the same as Kyle.
At this point, i do think there will be nothing connecting the first game to the second one. The only thing that could connect both games is the cure and how it could potentially have been lost. Other than this, there could be a tiny chance of seeing 1 or 2 survivors from the first game, but i do have a feeling they will not do any of this for DL2. The game looks more to a survival-esque game based on human rivalry than actually fighting the infected. The infected are probably going to have the "extra role", they will be the third wild party in the game that could potentially ruin your mission. While in the first game, the raiders were the extras.
Crane is dead one way or another. eaither as the night stalker who we play as in the PVP mode who caused the virus to spread after the following OR by big time nuke destroying him and everyone else.
I can see Brecken returning though it'd be REALLY cool if he sees similarities in Aiden compared to Crane since they are both parkour naturals and passionate to fight for their causes.
cant wait to see what happens
During the stream one of the devs explained how things went down.
They managed to contain the virus in harran. This implies that infected kyle crane was either captured, killed or simply left behind.
In the stream, the dev speaks about harran being contained, but scientists all over the world were working on new strands of the virus, and one of these new mutations of the virus escaped a lab in geneva, which led to the current events of DL2, 98% of the population was turned and everyone became infected from the new strand.
I still find it hard to believe that everyone is infected, because there would be no humanity left if that was the case, everyone would be at each others throats constantly to get medicine to survive the infection. Instead, i do think the people inside the last city are mostly not infected. For it to make any sense imo. The 2% that is still alive is basically scattered settlements outside the city and including the city.
I hope they let us explore outside of the city with the DLC. One thing i liked with the first game was exploring different areas that were affected by the virus. Having an expansion focused in the geneva lab for example, would be pretty nice. Revisiting Harran would also feel great. Plot could easily demand the player to revisit the original infection. So Harran could contain information that would help counter the new strand of the virus. The old virus would let people keep some of their thoughts during specific circumstances. In other words, a weaker strand of the virus. Could be possible that both strands negate each other and slow the infection process in the long run. In the real world, this is what happens most of the time. Manipulate a virus to use it as a counter to the original virus, so they end up destroying each other in the process.
