Really I'm just trying to unlock all the levels to mimic my old wii savegame. If there were a way to edit the saves on PC so as to match my progress on wii, that would be amazing but I assume is another order of magnitude more complicated than just the cheats.
I know I've managed to activate the invincibility cheat in-game. It was a while back, though, so I can't remeber how. Other than that I must have figured out which button to hold and which to press four times in a row.
I looked up some of the Xbox One ports cheats and that's how I figured this out. if what the above comments say are true then here's the listing of cheats that can be used in the game.
Hold down Back/Select during gameplay and input these buttons
Invincibility: A,A,A,A
Extra 10 Minutes: A,Y,A,Y
Extra Life: A,A,Y,Y
(assuming the buttons are the same, PS4 would be “A=X” and “Y=Triangle”)
Unfortunately, these are the only ones I can find that actually work (also the words are either backwards or in Russian(?) once they are activate/deactivated.) However I have been trying the ones that involve the “B” button in the code which is unlock all levels I don't think that would be plausible. Since this released onto consoles first, which is the Wii, and these are built-in codes these menu codes require you to stay on the menu until the code is finished. With the “A” button mapped to confirm this causes the menu screen to go to the stage select screen which then ruins the code. Yeah built-in cheats tend to be very picky this way, especially the ones that require fast enough fingers. It is entirely possible for the “B” button on the Wii remote to be mapped to the “RT” button but “A” for confirm throws the equation off.
Another interesting thing to note is that while looking through the local files, searching for the save file just in case the menu cheat worked I managed to find a file called “WiiYourself!” under docs, I believe this is some kind of Wii remote mapper of some kind. This pretty much makes me think that this is very much so the Wii version of the game and thus the controls are the exact same when using a controller or keyboard, which is why “A=1” and “Y=2” and the above cheats work. The last thing I want to note is that when searching for said save file I also ran into two folders under the folder labeled “Data”, these two folders are called “ShadersPS4” and “ShadersXB1” both of which are empty. Wheather or not that these were meant to be an option in the game or leftover from the new console versions is for a new discussion thread entirely.
Hopefully this answers most of everything.
