How does the "did you save arcadia bay or not" choice go down if you did not play the first game?
Yo. Just got curious about this. I picked what ending I got in the first game and I realized that there is no "official" way to change this choice. Does anyone know if the game just picks one for you if you have not played the first? Thanks!

There is one substantial change in Episode 5, as well as Episode 1, but the rest is pretty minor stuff. If you don't choose an ending, the ending gets chosen at complete random.

There should have been a pop-up asking you what ending you played (as you did). Differences are minimal. You see Arcadia Bay and the ligthouse at night, or a memorial, and later some photos and a phone call.

Addendum:
If I still recall correctly, it does ask again if you start a new game.

I also wonder what happens if you choose that you haven't played the 1st game, and I haven't found anything about it either

Yep and there is still no canon ending to the first game even with Double Exposure according to the developers.
