i really hated Max new powers...
You can read minds now? travel between worlds? Where is DANIEL so??? Daniel is the best.

Also, this is a game where chloe is canonically dead.

Yeah, I don't understand Max's powers but apparently to some people online it is based on the comics or something.

Now them making her read minds (and if she still has that time traveling thing) that would make her op and could possibly backfire on the game but we don't fully understand her power because I did not clearly understand her power at all in the trailer and teasers.

How could you understand a character or their powers if the game didn't exist yet? Clarvoyance?

Yeah I'm not convinced a direct sequel is a good idea. The games are supposed to have open endings. Making a sequel inadvertently canonizes one of the endings, which kind of ruins it (to me)
Unless it's a completely separate timeline?

The devs can pack as many powers as they wish but I don't see how LiS1 sequel is going to work without Chloe. Her personality was exactly what made LiS1 tick.

Yeah I do wonder what Max is going to bring to the table here.

double exposure is just simply a cash grab, dontnod stated that they see the story as finished and wont make a sequel, square enix probably pushed still them so they left and now deck nine is happily writing over the story that dontnod created in the first place. it ruins it for you because the original writers intended it as an open ending, but square enix wants to play mr crabs. just look at the pricing scheme, they are using fomo to get you to buy the most expensive edition which is just scummy and projects even more that double exposure wont be good and just a cash grab using max for nostalgia

And her death is what makes the ending great. Bringing her back would ruin all the sacrifice and I believe a LIS game can be good with new characters. Star Wars Episode 9 just shows why bringing an iconic character that everyone loves back to life was a bad idea despite his character is what made the prequels incredible.

Passing through everything to let chloe die is what doesn't make sense to me.

That's the whole point. Going through all that and save Chloe throughout the game only to realize she needs to die in order to save the town is what makes sacrificing her meaningful. It's the lesson Max learn and the adventure.

It's like that 2 DC the flash movies where the protagonist went back in time to save someone he loves only to realize it causes the end of the world and the movies end with him going back and undo his life saving actions and learn that he needs to accept the loss, and move on.
