[EP 5 SPOILER] the Blood Brothers ending
After getting the Redemption ending, i went to DONTNOD's youtube channel and watched all the EP 5 endings and i thought the Blood Brothers ending (break into Mexico with low morality) was really different and probably the most interesting ending as far as the Diaz Brothers' bond is concerned.

It's fair to assume that to get that ending, you have to teach Daniel that above all else what matters is the both of you achieving your goals (which really, is the goal that Sean chose for the both of them). It also entails that you encourage Daniel to use his powers often.

In the blood brothers ending, Sean seems to be the one maning the repair shop (Daniel is in the backroom while he's in the garage). Sean picks the gun up after the thugs drop it, he's the one who opens the safe to put it away, all while his younger brother watches. What does Daniel actually do in that ending ? He uses his power to defend himself and his brother, nothing else. Notice that they don't speak to each other throughout the entire ending.

So why do i think this is so interesting ? Because it's obvious that in that ending, Daniel has become completely dependent on Sean, because all he's been taught since his Father's death is that only him and his brother matter. He hasn't been taught to think for himself and act on what he thinks is right, he's been taught to do what his brother says.

I think the final scene of the Blood brothers ending encapsulates this perfectly: the brothers are together, they share a smile, but Daniel doesn't speak up when his brother lights a smoke (which he has an obvious dislike for) and then the camera cuts to Daniel's face, looking away from his brother and unto the horizon, his expression growing unsure and conflicted.

I'll have to take a look of those endings, honestly I don't have enough patience for replay the game to see those different endings

Hm then it really is a bittersweet ending. I want to say it's only one man's opinion and interpretation but there's no denying that you're more or less right... Still prefer this ending over all the others

Indeed, he's become reliant on Sean to think for him, which makes sense, you basically spend the game controlling when he can or can't do something, giving him no room for movement or personal development.

It's why, the harsh and unfair ending is the best ending, especially for Daniel, albeit unfair on Sean.
