Best Ending
Wanted to know people's opinion on the best ending and which one they think it is personally I believe it to be the one where Daniel lives with the grandparents (forget their names) and sean lives in Mexico with Cassidy. Initially, I was annoyed but thought about it for a while and I think its the best because Daniel got to live his life and even though the brothers arent together they still keep in contact at least with letters.

I liked the jail ending. Mostly because Daniel doesn't go through a rough road compared to the others. They're not technically separated compared to the others and aren't in any danger compared to the Blood Brothers ending. I don't like the idea of Daniel being on house arrest.

After looking at the videos, I liked Redemption the most, but I got Blood Brothers and I think it's ok (second best, imo).

in my opinion, that they both surrender. sean have to be 15 years in jail but then he isnt in mexico. in my opinion are the two endings where you across the border are bad. i mean they are gangsters... and there was another gang who attacked them, im pretty sure if just sean gets to mexico he would get killed by those 3 guys

I feel that Blood Brothers is the best ending. Yes I don't like how they become criminals, but they ultimately achieved their dream from the start of the game to find Puerto Lobos and actually be in happiness together when it came down to the end. Sean would spend 15 years behind bars for crimes he did not commit, Daniel would be on house arrest, or in the worst case Sean dies.

Both of their lives would be torn apart because they are separated and have to deal with things that they didn't do. If you ask me, it seems a bit silly to navigate across the country and then surrender at the last minute when you have a superpower to easily get you across, even if it involves casualties. It's unfortunate that it has to happen, but they were just trying to survive. Either way I feel their dad would be proud of them for their sacrifices and will to survive and achieve better lives in any ending.

For me personally:
1. Blood Brothers
2. Parting Ways
3. Redemption
4. Lone Wolf

hmm... well, I was high morale all the way through my first playthrough and were not satisfied with the 2 endings you can get from that. Like if you choose to save arcadia bay in the first game. As if the game once again wants to tell you that sacrificing your own well being is always the morally best thing to do.

The so called "good" endings does not feel fair to me. I underrstand now that, in LiS universe, doing the "right" thing does in the end mean screwing yourself over.

i want that they have a good life, with family, friends, no cops after them.

remember what this couple told in the prison. they said that it is a lot worse in mexico, that is why they tried to get in america.
and it does not look good how they live there, and i'm pretty sure that they are not really happy to live like that. daniel wanted to be with chris, grandparents and his mom. but like Lumis said, there is no good ending, maybe just a right and bad decision. probably you say this is unfair because they didnt done anything, that the cop is fault, but they still done illegal things. if sean wouldnt ran away im pretty sure he wouldnt sit in there for 15 years.

Ps: my opinion!!!

At the end of the day, it's pretty much a matter of personal perspective, and what is the most important thing for you. For me, it was not being separated from my little bro no matter what, even if it means having to give up on other things, like ties to friends and family. Also, I'm not a big fan of concepts like "rules of society" or "being a good person". That's probably why I went with the ending in which Chloe stays alive in LiS 1, without a second thought.

Parting Ways. I think this is best. If only because the writers were ludicrously unfair to Sean in every single ending besides this and Blood Brothers, where they were only semi-unfair in Parting Ways, and completely fair in Blood Brothers. And even then, it's still not fair to him overall. The only way he doesn't get royally screwed over for being a nice guy is to abandon his little brother in the end. If they really wanted it to be less lopsided, they should have had more endings to be honest and considered your Brotherhood levels. IE, I feel like "Redemption" should only happen if Daniel has low brotherhood with Sean and doesn't really vouch for you. As it's goofy that you get thrown in jail for... Uh... Being in the wrong place at the wrong time. As the dialogue between Sean and the cop makes no sense. He says that Sean should have just gone in for questioning... Which that phrase means that he was specifically *not* guilty, and from what I know, killing an officer would have been aggravated assault, which has a mandatory minimum of 30 years. So clearly he wasn't put in jail for this. Arson generally has a less lax punishment too-- especially on multiple attempts. Which the officer accuses him of. So unless his 15 years was just for the drugs, that's actually... Really stupid. Because he was still a minor. So he should have gotten like... 2 years tops for that. So either his sentence was too long, or too short based on what he was given. Granted I'm no lawyer, but this ending just feels really lazy and unfair.

If I were to rate them it's:

1. Parting Ways - Because even though they are separated, they keep their morality in tact and can still talk. But Sean never gets to visit in America again. Which is pretty sad.
2. Blood Brothers - Because they stay together and get to do what they set out to do.
3. Redemption - Sean gets punished for half of his lived life for... Very questionable things, and Daniel gets off Scott free despite being the catalyst for all of the problems in Sean's life, as Daniel's tomfoolery is what ultimately leads to Estaban getting shot and then he gets to grow up the rest of his time in a normal environment next to the kid that he met. Sean gets to visit Daniel again, but seriously, I doubt I ever would in this ending. Because 15 years is a lot of time to just be *out* of society.
4. Lone Wolf - Is just garbage.

I think on a different day of the week I could like Blood Brothers more.

Odd I think, that after several demonstrations of Daniels power that the authorities didnt whisk him away to a secret establishment where they could work on finding out where his power comes from with a view to making Daniel a superweapon......pretty sure thats what would have occurred in real life.

don't @ me
agree, tough Mexico is kinda dangerous and Daniel cant always be around to protect Sean (what an irony). Hope they use that money to move to another country, far away from those gangs

eh, it's not THAT bad in Mexico ... also - i'm fairly certain that cutscene might have something to do with that news clipping shown earlier in the ending

I'm pretty sure they are monitoring him because of his powers, as I doubt he'd be under house arrest for juvenile charges for 6 years, if he was even actually charged with anything in this ending. They don't want a scandal on their hands, and they wouldn't be able to snatch him up without the entire nation asking questions because of Sean and Daniel's notoriety. So I think it's very possible that he vet much under government surveillance, and I feel like that's a part of the reason why he cries at the end. Not only does he feel alienated from his brother, but he's trapped without escape and will likely be jailed (if he was charged) or otherwise taken once becoming an adult. It's another point against the ending being the best one, and I legitimately do feel like it's the most grey out of them all.

I disagree that that's the best ending. It's honestly the most grey ending out of them all. The two brothers are seperated, one is living the dream in Mexico, the other stuck by himself and possibly under government surveillance (as evidenced by the ankle monitor) and Daniel's not happy. This is the antithesis of the game's meaning. It's also the one that made me straight up cry. The ending I got first is the one that makes the most sense to me. Sean surrendered, and Daniel went to go live with his grandparents and had a happy life, graduated school, became a barista, and got a car. This is what Sean wanted. Sean spends 15 years in prison, traumatised by the experiences of it all, and spends some time with Daniel culminating in a hike crying in his little brother's arms. But Sean leaves, to accomplish what he needs to do in his own life, likely not wanting burden Daniel, and it's extremely bittersweet. It just simply feels like the necessary ending, and the one that really nails the game's themes of both political/systemic injustice and brotherhood.

What part of the ending is 'antithesis' to the game...we still get all those themes. Systemic injustice because the brothers face serious consequences for actions out of their control...brotherhood because they are still close and a visit in the future is definitely possible. I'm unsure about the ankle bracelet and why it doesn't occur in the Redemption ending (an ending that really doesn't feel like redemption). I figure Sean takes the blame for the weird explosions, but it doesn't make sense for Daniel to not have the same ability to blame everything on Sean. Anyway, we know from the photos and Daniel's face that he very much is happy. He hangs out with Chris, save people (school bus), has a dog, and spends time with his mom. The reconciliation between Claire and Karen is a huge plus, too. Sean seems happy too.

For me, this ending was as good as the brothers were gonna get. Yeah, their codependency is shattered, but they still talk and live full separate lives. The Redemption ending was too bitter, not enough sweet for me. Daniel is good and safe and happy, but Sean is left traumatized by unjust imprisonment. The brothers are still for the most part separated. I think Parting Ways takes the cake for the good endings.

Life is Strange has always been about sacrifice, right? There's something to lose in both endings, but Parting Ways treats the brothers a little more fairly. LiS 2 is also about Daniel's experiences and education...by the end, he decides that what he wants isn't the same as what Sean wants, and I'm really into the message too.
