If you get the best ending (Daniel surrenders and lives with his grandparents in Beaver Creek) and Sean goes to Mexico AND you romanced Finn in episode 3, Daniel will receive a letter from Sean with a picture of him and Finn at the beach. It depends on your choices, though.

If he wasn't shot then Cassidy probably left him since in I think Episode 3 she was furious at his decision to rob their bosses house anyway.
I think he was shot in my playthrough
