You must have called Lyla or logged into Facebook, and if that's the case, I think it's fair that a big negative consequence followed. You were specifically instructed not to do those things for your safety and there was no pragmatic reason to disobey. Ergo, you're "punished" for that decision.
Hahaha, this made me laugh and sad at the same time.
I called Lyla (because she seemed like a really good friend) and Daniel saved Chris from the police car. Do the police always come though? Just not sure how they would get to the end point on the train otherwise. Assumed someone at the Christmas market would identify the boys if not, but maybe that isn't the case. Maybe they leave on there own and aren't forced to flee?
The cops still came, but I just escaped out the back while the grandmother distracted the police and said goodbye to Chris at his Treehouse.
I told Daniel to be honest about his powers with Chris though. Also I think if Daniel uses his powers to save Chris or not, depends on if you encouraged him or not.
I originally had this theory that using the phone or computer would cause one of the dramatic endings to happen, but now after hearing from people I can see that that's obviously not the case. (So then, what's the point of being obedient? Shame on you, devs. Making me think rationalizing my decisions with morals would positively influence the outcome).
So it is kind of dumb that there's just no way to avoid getting tracked by the police. I guess Chris's fate is largely determined by how you handle the situation with his powers and how willing Daniel is to listen to you.
I guess I've influenced Daniel to be less obedient (to me, especially). But in my opinion, this was the best outcome I could have asked for.
