this is probably unhelpful now but did you check the door first? I didnt and i couldnt access it, but then i checked the door and went back in and clicked on the hamper, then the cardi and it worked

K it worked after I rebooted the game. Weird.

You should have been able to search the cardigan after you interacted with the locked bedroom. Just follow Daniel into the bathroom as he cleans up and it would have been accessible there.

"Look" at the hamper twice. On the second time you'll get a small closeup cutscene of the hamper and then afterwards you can search the clothes.
